I didn't even say she owes anything to her fans, it was purely that her doing nothing about it causes issues to her coworkers. And they had nothing to do with it, while her refusal to communicate on the most basic level is definitely a big part of the cause. This isn't the company where you can act like you don't give a shit about anyone else, yet she does.
I like Gura as a streamer, I find her entertaining. Her lack of communication is really disrespectful though. Even if she simply stated her next stream will be for the next merch drop or will be over the new generation debuts it would be better than the nothing we get now. Her genmates constantly dance around her not being available for collabs or group projects. I assume Cover lets her get away with it since she is still a cash cow with brand recognition.

Yae shilling GamerSupps

4 of the V4Mirai girls (1 from each gen - Serina, Alias, Lyko) got GamerSupps sponsorships.
Opinions on GamerSupps as a product aside, by all accounts they're an incredibly generous sponsor (compared to Gfuel especially).
Happy for them, and hope this leads to other productive sponsorships.
EN Vtubing, for it's size, is unfortunately really behind when it comes to working with brands.

Edit: Didn't Punkalopi have a pretty good GamerSupps thing going on? That didn't get carried over to Enya right?

Holy Fuck
I am kinda glad that most vtuber corpos have banned fan gifts now WTF
This has been a recurring problem for streamers for a long time, and it's why reputable corpos who accept gifts on behalf of talents will have someone inspect the packages before sending them on. It's also why I'd heavily advise anyone trying to maintain privacy not to open P.O. Boxes for fan submissions, since the post office hiding your address achieves nothing if the package itself has a tracker in it.

that her doing nothing about it causes issues to her coworkers.
Realistically, what can she say that would please her fans to fuck off forever? Especially so that it would work with her disappearing for months at a time with maybe 2 hour stream here and there? She cant really lie to her fans and say she got terminal tummy hort, nor she can be honest and say "I just dont want to stream" cause it wont solve the problem and somewhat disappoint chumbuds, nor she can go the dooby route cause she aint as busy as dooby is and gura is still the face of en vtubing generating ticket and merch sales out of thin air. So just doing nothing is a way better solution. This way she still gets the money and doesnt have to stream as much, while still appearing on events, benefitting the company cause ticket sales.
This isn't the company where you can act like you don't give a shit about anyone else, yet she does
Why not? You dont work there, you have no idea whats happening behind close doors. The most damage her coworkers get from Guras inaction is maybe some more chat spam in their already spammed to all shit chat and some extra superchats, and whos going to complain about extra couple of dollars?

...isn't this just standard procedure and common sense for any sort of vtuber or celebrity appearances? Don't accept food or drinks, never take your eyes off your personal effects, use a PO box, keep gifts at a separate location until they've been screened for airtags and trackers, etc?
Like I know this sounds like a hassle but where's the "don't get raped" instinct?

Given how coombrained some of them are, they probably have the opposite of it

Since we are Gura Looping again :BijouBijou:

I found this funny meme from AUGUST OF 2019 that its about her fans waiting for new content that she Retwetted herself
So i am pretty sure now that she is self aware of what her long absence is able to do

Few people take potential threats seriously until they see something happen with their own eyes, it's just an inherent flaw in humanity.

I think there's also an underlying problem that causes a lot of "influencer" problems in that streamers/YouTubers etc. do not see themselves as celebrities, so they don't develop the same self-preservation skills and sense of responsibility that a mainstream celebrity who spends 12 hours a day being chased by cameras would; and honestly, why would they? Most of these people have little-to-no irl work experience, having left school and spent a few years living as a neet, ending up streaming professionally without much thought. Their average day-to-day life is almost identical to the time they spent as an unemployed nobody, so the idea that they're being watched and are a target for bad actors now won't have sunk in properly.

I'd just go over everything coming to my PO box with a fine tooth comb and if I find a tracker, I'm going out into the sticks and leaving the tracker at a nice little place I know. I dare anyone to show up there thinking they're going to find me.

reminder celebrities even semi famous ones like disneys shitty live actresses REPEATEDLY DAILY have this drilled into their heads.

no one does this for vtubers unless prompted by something else.

Proof that indie "managers" are worthless. do we know if Camila has one?
