Twitch has created a classification for "politics and sensitive social issues" content, which advertisers can (will) opt out of. Kirsche might want to step lightly

Kirsche has never struck me as someone who will moderate her opinions solely for money. In fact, being in that part of Twitch might even be good for her audience since they won't be bombarded with so many ads.

This assumes the category exists for user/advertiser convivence rather than to help twitch more easily sweep for unsanctioned opinions

I'm not talking about moderating her opinions, but maybe moving the BRIDGE stuff to YT-only. She gotta eat, too.

Calling it now, certain people will be allowed to stay under "Just Chatting" and no matter how often it's pointed out it'll just be ignored.

The advertiser were already pulling out of twitch, they panic created this category to convince them to come back.

nah they did the same to the hot tub meta, just quarantine them in a corner and let them do whatever the fuck they want. And no you don't get any advertiser in there.

I wonder why Amazon still bother keeping twitch at this point?
The thing is hella unprofitable, advertisers pulling out left and right and noone is promoting Amazon's name on the platform and there's literally 0 strategy for growth in sight.
If I'm amazon's CEO I would have took away all the competent developers and kill off the company. Or maybe sell it off
Google could afford running Youtube at a lost because it really put their name out there + infinite data to farm off.
I don't think Twitch has ever been effective PR for amazon, most people probs don't even know they are part of amazon, the data on it is usually worthless since unlike youtube where people upload their entire life, twitch is mostly gaming.

I also don't understand free Prime sub system. Basically you pay streamers millions of dollars for fun. Noone in the world would buy Amazon Prime just for the streamers and nothing else. Usually it's people who already has prime or their mum already bought it. They are just losing so many money trying to make Twitch works.

When a company is large enough cultural terraforming begins to makes sense I think they keep twitch running in a bid to manufacture the perfect consumer/worker hell a while back a study came out that found that diversity in the workplace lowered the chances of that workplace unionizing.

It's not about money, it's about control.

This seems to be a kneejerk reaction to a campaign done by some jewish-adjecent individuals who are doing snide jabs at twitch due to their platforming of individuals like Hasan
NYC Congressman Ritchie Torres has outright named Hasan and CEO Dan Clancy (who has also been accused of giving protection to whores on the platform)in a congressional letter about anti antisemitism on twitch

Reposting from Kiwi farms
Dan Saltman, who made Twitchorterrorist, a site that gives you a selection of quotes and lets you guess if its from a terrorist or twitch user, also made another "gripe site" that shows you a list of brands who advertise on twitch, and plays a snippet of one of their ads playing before a clip of Hasan laughing at some woman asking Kamala Harris about Anti-semitism
The site gives you the advertiser's social media, e-mail, and an email template, alongside an option of contacting your local american state rep and attorney general about violating laws that prevent people from bad-mouthing Israel.
Dan Saltman and his fuckbuddy Destiny have alleged that major advertisers have already pulled out of twitch

TL;DR the golem is turning on its master once they started making fun of israel and twitch is scrambling to prevent advertisers from leaving

I apologize for the politisperg but this is pretty much why twitch is trying to implement this now
