Kinda late by now but honestly, I don't think uwo said anything that crazy or worth a multi-page discussion. Just seemed like banter between friends that had a bit of seethe in it. If it was more than banter and he was truly mad that the popular organization won a popularity contest, then yeah he's just retarded. Just like anyone else that gets angry at any awards show.
It is kinda funny for people to seethe at the blue dorito buff though cause:
1. It almost always comes with implying or outright saying that the talents didn't earn it. Lmao you go and try to pass that audition then.
2. It's even helped out a few indies as well.
There are the huge examples like Shigure Ui, Nachoneko etc. But even on a smaller scale, Milky Queen and Ci-chan being friends with Calli got a few more eyes on them. Ririsya is a consistent 3view that got to do her own 3D live and is even doing another one next year. I'm sure producing the music of a few Holos helped her get there. Revy has helped with multiple EN events now and didn't she win an award for it? Along with whatever number boost she got as well. Peo hasn't interacted directly with Holo (outside of Ollie in her chat iirc?) but she got noticed in the first place because Holofags noticed how much of an Ame fangirl she was, along with her adorable and consistent attempts at English. All of this is minor in the grand scheme of things for sure, but it's certainly doing more than the people just seething online about the blue dorito buff.
I dunno, I feel like it's not that deep. If you're gonna be a vtuber/streamer in general, make your content, have fun with it, try to form connections and hope you build a solid fanbase, whether it's through slow progression or through a sudden burst thanks to the algorithm. Focusing only on numbers is gay anyways.
