Moist critik4l did a twitch vs youtube stream earning comparison. Sharing his experience as a 4-view multi-streamer in the past year, streaming on both platform.
Here are comparison of some INDIVIDUAL streams:

- Most of Youtube earnings are from vod viewers. Millie wasn't actually lying about how vod makes a lot of money for her and will continue doing so.
- Twitch earns 2 times the amount while you are live compared to youtube since more people subs on twitch than joining youtube membership. CCV means more on twitch if you only strictly look at live revenue and ignoring the much larger vod view income.
- Homeless Jesus concluded that streamers should stream on both platforms. Multi-streaming is the future. The time spent reacting would be better spent to make a thumbnail on youtube.
- Note that this is only strictly for stream revenue, sponsorship is not discussed.

I don't think that much revenue is from actual vod watchers but people who join the stream. I've had this theory that streams are so much profitable because of the amount of people who tune in and out of the stream. I'd love to see the data but I suspect youtube noticed the amount of people who basically pass through a stream is insane and that's why they made it so that you get an ad when you try to join a stream. The longer you stream the bigger the amount. He should compare the ad revenue between videos and vods with the same amount of views to confirm.
Now I'm really curious just how much money a 3 view makes on youtube
