This is why I dislike Twitch. Its a FOMO platform. If the streamer is not live, they might as well not exist. Twitch clips are USELESS for the most part other than to possibly highlight funny segments you can later edit out and put on Youtube. Same with Twitch VODS.Moist critik4l did a twitch vs youtube stream earning comparison. Sharing his experience as a 4-view multi-streamer in the past year, streaming on both platform.
Here are comparison of some streams:
- Most of Youtube earnings are from vod viewers. Millie wasn't actually lying about how vod makes a lot of money for her and will continue doing so.
- Twitch earns 2 times the amount while you are live compared to youtube since more people subs on twitch than joining youtube membership. CCV means more on twitch if you only strictly look at live revenue and ignoring the much larger vod view income.
- Homeless Jesus concluded that streamers should stream on both platforms. Multi-streaming is the future. The time spent reacting would be better spent to make a thumbnail on youtube.
- Note that this is only strictly for stream revenue, sponsorship is not discussed.
On Youtube you get passive revenue from Ads and the content can be relevant a few years down the line. Shit sometimes some videos suddenly pop and go viral up because someone found it and shared it which causes a chain reaction of people wanting to react or view said content years before it was published. If I don't publish a single video in a month, I still get around 20-25% of my top monthly revenue and the most videos you have that are monetized, the more passive revenue potential you get. And this is from the point of view of a clipper so I don't have superchats, or memberships enabled or anything. Its all strictly ad revenue.

For more context this Riapi debuted in 2016, she has been through 2 dead idol groups DearStar and ENGAG.ING. This will be her 3rd and probs final one as she's now 9 years into idol and her last 3 years with Denpagumi has been absolute uh... mediocrity?
The newest gen with Riapi (joined 2021) didn't make enough of a splash that Dempagumi finally disbanded after 16 years of activity
She was active in DeadStars from late 2016 -> 2018. So if Riapi became Polka & Mint's oshi around 2017. A 26 years old Polka was watching and cheering on her favorite idol from under the stage
7 years later, a 33 years old Polka, she's now the bigger idol between the two and took the chance to collab with the smaller Riapi for her one last hurrah.... as a weird anime clown. Weird how life turns out
