So, I'm not sure how well Lia's new model fits Lia. It's a cute model, really detailed and well-rigged and all of that, and I'm glad that Lia is happy with it, but it just doesn't seem like "Lia" to me for some reason. Even if I ignore the buff to the chest. It could be how different the colour palette is, or how the "angel" motif was never really in Lia's wheelhouse before, or the lack of continuity with old models besides the hair colour, I don't know, it just doesn't quite feel like Lia to me.
Anyway, I could do with some alternate opinions on this. What does everyone else think?

I outright don't like it. Lia 2 was perfect, and Lia 3 is basically a completely different character. Lia 3 is also a mishmash of random shit and the color scheme isn't nearly as good.
The difference between the two is a fair bit jarring, it's definitely stronger than between Lia 2.0 and Ashelia, but i'm sure that she'll make it work.
Hey wasn't this(importance of models&rigging and how they fit their respective vtubers) just discussed in the Niji thread? That loop was particularly fast.
At least color scheme and hair resembles a jellyfish, which is what she has as oshi mark. It's also more "idol" imo
I prefer the old outfit too, but I think the new one is fine. It has a bit of a cosplay vibe, but that suits her fine.
Considering the 3D model I doubt the old outfit is retired.
she seems to go for gothic/emo fashion and since she liked that vtuber game I figure she's trying to cosplay as kangel or whatever her name was. If this is just an alternate costume instead of another redesign then I don't see that much of an issue. If it's a redesign then my nigga fishman really needs to put his foot down to keep branding from changing. People need to look at your design and go "oh yeah it's so from that place", this is why cover doesn't let them change their hair color in new outfits, suisei tried and they told her nope.
Redesigns can be good, nasa and lia went from shit to great. Going for a second redesign dilutes the brand.
It's a huge downgrade, the 2.0 is distinct and full of character, while the 3.0 feels generic; it's lost a lot of its identity. The ripped black tights look really out of place too.
She mentions at the very end stream it's just a costume yes not a replacement. The 3.0 in the stream name might fit her branding as a virus but it definitely created some confusion

She had an animation(ok it was a collection of still images, animation's too strong of a word but w/e) of executing her 2.0 at the beginning of the stream, i doubt it's coming back.
Dunno about 3D version though, we'll see eventually, i guess.

Well then, my fault for not watching all the way through.
Probably done as a throw back to killing Ashelia for Lia 2.0 but again she kind of left a confusing message about the whole thing. Also remember despite Lia 2.0 being a replacement Ashelia has still popped up once or twice.
I think the color scheme might play into the feeling of whiplash. We're used to Lia having black, pink, magenta, etc. so suddenly having an Idol-ish Lia with a cool palette of colors is a bit jarring. I still think it's cute
I think the reference here is to streamVODs comments, and...yes, no shit, YT livestream VODs rarely get a lot of comments, it's an established fact, i'm certain Azehara is far from the only clipper who gets more comments under his clips than an average YT livestream VOD does.
2.0's black and pink is great contrast and iconic. The gradients on the stocking and using a range of pink shades melt it together very nicely. The whole costume has stuff going on, but when she's streaming and you only see chest-and-up, it's pretty clean.
3.0 is like mainly light blue - white, which doesn't really fit her. The black elements feel kind of forced. All of that clashes with her makeup and the hairclips.
I'm especially not a fan of the hairstyle and the wing headphones (hate that trope).
Any photoshop lads in here, maybe see what happens if you turn all the blues into pinks.
lets not pretend that 2.0 wasn't just "legally distinct misa amane"
but Lia carried it and gave it life. I do agree that this new one isn't as good as the second, maybe if they had a different color palette it would feel less generic. I suppose they were going for a punk magical girl but the color palette and the tit hair really drags it down.She may say that but if staff doesn't tell her to switch back to her original outfit regularly it will start to damage the brand she built. This is already a bit of a problem for my nigga fishman. Shiina is in the process of becoming a crab instead of her original design, I took a quick look at her streams and she's streaming using her crab mode more than her original design. Jelly at this point is basically some random girl in pajamas since she got her new outfit. If it's a redesign ok then but she just burned like a year of branding in the process
Like I said redesigns can be a plus. In my opinion Nasa's original design was hideous to look at. This new one is a hell of an upgrade.
I think it's fine, but I agree that her 2.0 model is by far her best and fits her very well. I'm sure she'll be using this new model exclusively for a bit, but as stated already, she did say her 2.0 isn't being retired, so hopefully after breaking in the new one for a bit, she'll swap around regularly.
