Yeah guys fuck it. Let's just make take the fucking japanese copyright retardation and dial it up 20 times over. Your art referenced someone's drawing as inspiration? gotta pay up!! Oh that design looked awfully familiar to this other dude, get fucked gotta pay. Your artstyle is awfully similar to these negroes? tough shit, pay up. If artfags want to open that pandora box for what is essentially sampling, something thousands of assholes do in music and photography, go right ahead. You'll be out of a job way faster when the talented people make their own AI models of their own art and sell them to the masses.

My understanding of AI is that it's not even sampling, just pattern recognition (which is why it has to be forcibly neutered whenever talking about the Jews), so artists got one less leg to stand on, unless they want to open a weird box of how "learning" is somehow infringement.

That court case coming up between the record labels and music AI companies is going to be real interesting.

What are even the "dead giveaways" of those backgrounds? For a one time stream especially they looked completely fine and theme matching to me?! I'd wager it looked fine for most, if not all, non-art-fags.

Why would I pay someone for something like that? (With all the hassle that comes with it)

Assuming it really was made by ai and by the girls/management.

Marine herself is/was an artist and is not pissed of by it, apparently.

Big sad happenings

It has been alleged that Taran Mikoshi, a ReACT talent who was terminated in February, has commited suicide by jumping front of a train
Slight bit of update, but the OP of the reddit post was updated due to misinformation (reddit taking info from /vt/ without confirmations, as per usual) related to the whole "CEO of ReACT sexually harrasing her" stuff, which was covered in a different reddit post. [Archive]

Since the original reddit post as quoted by the Samurai man has been updated to accommodate the new information (though the archive obviously doesn't), I took liberty on archiving the current version for posterity sake. It can be accessed here: https://archive.is/ZFJvQ

Brother, you can't be for real... This might be the way you find out you're blind.
That picture is not just a showcase for AI art, but for bad AI art.

It mimics some styles but other than that its very hard to tell that an exact part came out from an exact picture so the whole "IT COPIES OFF OTHER ARITSTS WITHOUT GIVING CREDIT" argument is not really a valid one since you cant really pin point what exactly got copied. Additionally on the "copying artstyle" argument, it is no different than many of the Sakimichan or Incase (for porn) clones out there. A mediocre artist can copy someone else's style. With Ai you don't have to manually have someone do the job and its mostly instant.

Since October 2022, all of my thumbnails have been Ai. They used to be edited art.

I don't think she cares enough. She pays out her ass for animations for her music videos, one stupid background for a stream wont mean shit.

I'm guessing that some twat will try to fuck with Iofi since she has been the most outspoken about Ai art so they will try to pull a gotcha "you hate Ai so much yet you work for a company that disrespects artists by using Ai".

You can't fight progress, the mediocre artist is pretty much dead thanks to AI and instead of trying to garner some sympathy you're driving people to wish for your demise faster for being a cunt about it. Artists had a decent thing going but all the entitlement and lack of professionalism is what killing them, not the AI that spits random bs from a prompt, which is also hilarious because if you need to change something you don't have to wait a week for the asshole artist to actually do the work :whatastory:

Enough AI sperging, here have some yui clip

I didn't realize until I saw the post about it in this site, probably because I was too busy looking at the actual models, which are the important thing, which real artists and riggers DO get paid to make.

I swear people are way too autistic over this, how many pieces of art do you think Cover and its talents commission or buy a year? Hundreds? Thousands? But of course we always have to hold people to their lowest standard in today's internet. There are no mistakes or blunders, only meticulously planned and coordinated attacks.

Then don't talk out of your ass and point out what shows that it is (bad) ai.
And then tell me how it matters for a STREAM background.

You also have to understand that most people neither notice nor care in this context.

Everything is luminescent and soapy and things that supposed to cast shadows dont, and those that arent do and you notice that ai kinda starts some patters and then abrumptly cuts off and if you used ai you notice that ai didnt have enough steps to refine a picture or has a shitty sampler so everything that should be straight is wobbly

Some fans(?) Pointed out some of the backgrounds for the new holofantasy outfits are made by AI. Which i have to agree it looks very AI generated.

Im no anti AI but i feel like Cover being the biggest Vtuber company shouldnt rely on it and should prioritze work from artists.

Edit: the person calling it out isnt actually a random fan. Its Doki's rigger.

Imagine being someone who used to be from the Vocaloid fanbase seeing someone call Cilia/Kyaami "Doki's rigger"

Pekora shot an artist in cold blood to get that background, don't you know? I saw her do it.

The soft cell-shading/smoothing-filter style as a whole is overrepresented in AI art, and since the piece is covered in it it's hard not to notice which makes you look closer. The warping on the windows and greenery are all tells too, as are the unidentifiable objects in both bottom corners.

Usually you can either inpaint the offending portions or redraw them manually to clean it up, but this has problems everywhere so they probably should've just regenerated it entirely.

Thx thats at least informative.

But still, most won't notice or care. Especially for a fantasy background.

If you used ai
Most don't.

The point ist: it is not egregiously noticable on a stream background for most viewers.

Yea but that shit (ai) is cheap and you already spent money, big money, on the outfit. You might aswell shell some out for the background.

Like yea no shit its not noticeable to viewers, but people who notice will do so especially if you are sloppy like that and dont want to learn how to wrangle AI so the output isnt shit and obvious to naked eye
