Imagine being a femboy.
Laplus has been open about streaming on Twitch more because that's where her target audience/collabs are.
Laplus does still stream, far more than Shion or Gura, she just splits her time between Youtube and Twitch.
Bros really made me numberfagging again
Gura streamed 44 hours from jan to may, Laplus streamed about 120 hours combined on both platform, however about 80% of those were from jan-feb, she has basically became gura during the last 3 month. I guess she streamed abit more last month on twitch (9 hours), but so does gura.
Laplus streamed ONE TOTAL hours on twitch in april 2024. She actually had more youtube hour streamed then due to sponsored stream/mario kart tournament.

You forgot the most important statistic: Your oshi stopped doing exercise and is gonna get fat again.
I see that as an absolute win :architect: provided she not getting hospitalized again

Six months into the year and during the biggest EN vtuber convention it's a good time to take a look at the

State of vtubing
Hololive - Status quo, on top. Moving into the streamer realm (Aki, La+, Towa and more). Also reGloss x Niji JP collabs shows how much of a knifefight the industry is
Nijisanji - EN ccv/subs down, JP oblivious and thriving
Vshojo - still an asylum for disgruntled vtubers
VSPO - winning and EN this summer plus talking more auditions

EN
Phase Connect - still growing, Clara breaking out
Idol - poaching and accelerating now
Mythic - useless
Production Kawaii - treading water, no land in sight
StarsEN - hitting bigger numbers, especially the new gens. Can change the narrative and help JP. Large indies and ex-niji's are help them hit bigger numbers
HoloEN - move to Japan meta
NijiEN - in hiding...
V4Mirai - Dr Novae is the breakout star
VAllure - Riifu the anime vs Stronny the doujin... but YT culls both
vReverie - extended implosion
V&U - less U's now
Mythos - charlie voiced promo company - looks like a content farm operation
Wactor - now 910inc. IDOL ES's future
PixelLink - just debuted Gen 2, hitting decent numbers
Nexas - can this really work?!
Globie - feels like EN KemoV
Ex- Tsunderia/Prism - not forgotten

JP
Aogiri High School - clawing back relevance
Sony VEE - hanging on
VOMs - it's VOMs
Nanashi (774) - slowly dying, Chris why!?
Neo Porte - coming along, twitch meta
Kamitsubaki Studios - taking the "Brave group" route of random units and such
Re:Act - more idolish but also more churn
.live - Siro's back hurts
NoriPro - they are accelerating, 3 new gens this year
KemoV - Coyo's back hurts
AKA Virtual - who? yet their numbers are good

Beyond:
Plave (vlast) - could pop off and is on YT vs. Korean streaming platforms. Digital BTS
Reject gaming - CCR influenced. Toko pls stream on YT, I love you. Dtto, ditto.
ISEGYE - afreecatv...

Indies of note
Rica - still cute, needs new model
Mikeneko - still alive
Aoi - still apex
Chinami, Babu, Nemu - looking like the retired rainbow support group in JP
Delta - still singing
Love chan - sadness, why Kizuna
Hinata - prime example of audience drop off
Ui - insane growth that she is leaning into
Pmaru - it's all her fault
Kakushaku Rin - still has her voice
Peo - impressive JP/EN
Ririsya - hoping for more growth
Saine sisters - still cute
Morino - Schizo chan is doing well, good luck TVA

EN
Amiya - calm spider, similar numbers
Tomoe - hyper horse, same as spider
Doki - non-stop events, feel like her managers are working insane hours
Mint - healing ghost, Pomu numbers

Unknown companies
Neobaka - lots of growth,
MAHA5 - are they still alive?

Subs and playback info for this year

Let me know who I forgot or what you have to add
Some other groups:
StelLive - went to Naver's twitch clone, chzzk, and are doing okay, viewership was about Pippa level on Twitch, don't know how to pull chzzk stats
First Stage Production EN - though the jp version is mixed gender, they went all-in with the boy band format for EN and have been doing very well with a totally different audience than the normal

Also Thai vtubing is popping off still, it's very separated from EN and even the rest of SEA due to language, but multiple large corpos, indie-founded-corpos, massive converts, etc. I don't know enough to throw up a summary but it's certainly become its own thing.

Literally who? How do you pull those kinds of numbers and I have never seen it mentioned in reddit/twitter/vt/here?

the problem with twitch clones/alternative platform is that we don't know if they fake their numbers or not (and they tends to do so) so usually noone includes them in their table. There is also the problem of not having a tracking sites. Heck the usual autist don't even include twitch numbers.
and Naver/chzzk is Korean in the first place. Reddit/vt/twitter/here didn't give a shit about them korean vtubers when they were on twitch/youtube, much less now when they moved to a brand new platform due to twitch leaving korea

HoloEarth is definitely looking like a bigger and bigger waste of time if they continue to not use it for anything interesting, like more concerts.
HoloEarth generally strikes me as something that the company is doing because some outside pressure like shareholders or institutional investors want it. I find it hard to believe there was a legitimate cohort of fans that wanted a metaverse game where vtubers could hold concerts. I feel like the money they are using on HoloEarth would be far better spent on the main segment of the business. HoloPlus also falls in this category for me. They're just trying to reinvent the wheel so they can say they cut out the middleman (Twitter, Youtube, SPWN, etc) to investors even if it isn't actually what the fans want.

They don't lol, the last investor QnA was literally 30% bitching about it and how they don't see returns on it. HoloEarth is genuinely just a side-project which the company is doing because they believe it COULD be profitable, it has the lowest amount of employees assigned to it (11%) and is generally not treated as super important.

I am with you in not seeing the purpose of it and thinking it's kind of a big waste of time but Cover wants to do it and it isn't sinking the company or taking away from the talents' remuneration so I say let them do it. If it works, good! If it doesn't, who cares?

The investors don't want this, not at all. What the investors want is Nijisanji and Cover isn't giving it to them.
And Cover DOES genuinely worry about having to go through a middle-man, they have pointed it out several times as an operational risk. Their attempts may be lackluster but they are genuinely trying to create their own fandom spaces.

Hey i gotta ask how does a vtuber do signings at offkai. through machine? and if so has that always been the case?
I'll pass on all I know.
If they are indie or are exactly Kson or Kuro they'll probably sign in person at an event.

If they are corpo that's where I don't know much. I know sometimes they have pre signed stuff and sometimes the talents do go undercover to sign the standees at a con. I assume most cons don't have equipment like an autopen for signings.

Don't know about others, but Offkai has something for that. Panko connected to wrong machine and signed Shylily's boobs last year

ISEGYE was the biggest vtuber group on Twitch, bigger than Vshojo by a large margin. StelLive comes second in the KR market, at least for people who mainly stream (PLAVE's viewership is all concerts). Twitch absolutely destroyed one of their biggest growth sectors when they pushed KR vtubers off the platform.

Basically anything non-English and non-JP may as well not exist. Brazilian agency Neobaka is Phase-sized. Thai vtubing is arguably bigger than ID vtubing. ISEGYE is HoloEN tier but for Korea. Doesn't affect EN viewers at all, so it's a surprise every time it's mentioned.

Dev_is is definitely a success. Maybe not a smash hit like HoloX was, but they are definitely popular. Their sub numbers got nuked the hardest ever of anyone in Holo, but their CCV is just fine. At this point, I think the whole point of Dev_is was to be able to debut more JP talents without as heavy of the chuuni theming. That about seems to be the only difference between the main branch and Dev_is.
It is refreshing having a group that is not as chuuni as the main branch, I don't know if it's a weakness or strength, and also their main branch youtube channel have some fun content if you haven't checked it out:

Ahhhh okay, makes sense. Yeah these insular markets all have 1 or 2 supersized corpos because there's literally no competition. Also explains why I have never heard of it, I don't speak gook.

Gura only have 113 hours stream in 2023. Saying laplus gone full gura is a stretch.
