Te future might be not indie, but it's not entirely corpo either. I don't see corpo cut of the market significantly expanding, ever.

Edit: To make my post more nuanced and not just a shitpost I will remind everyone that nips have a lot more trust in corporations than us cynical westoids, even if corpos die out in the west they will still thrive in Japan and asia in general, they will keep trying to take chunks out of the overseas market and launch incursions into other cultures like they already have. Maybe vtubing in the west will just devolve into some cringy vrchat style gimmick which a handful of twitch streamers use and only the truest basement dwelling weebs will go to nip agencies for "true content"... y'know, kinda like everything which comes out of japan and then gets ruined by the west?

The future of vtubing is something nobody can truly predict.

I just wouldn't want my daughter to even know the internet exists until she's old enough to vote, let alone having her posting videos of herself as a child dancing with friends. I know the kind of fucked up people out there and the increasing lack of care people have for protecting their information sends me up a wall.

I also just don't like the idea of being host to a video of a D-tier public personality as a child. We might not allow outright porn here but I also don't think we should have cringe child videos either.

The vtuber market started from nothing and is what it is now nearly entirely from the efforts, expenditure and advertising of corpos. The majority of people's first exposure to vtubers will be from corpos, either from clips of their content or seeing advertising of those corpo talents or events created by corpos. I only see the pie getting bigger from here and that will also be because of the efforts of corpos and their talents.
