You're late
Calling them "her" and "she" is comical because they will never be a woman.
The issue is that it pretty much plays out like this:
>go to con to sell NijiEN merch after a nuclear-level PR disaster that makes them public enemy #1
>people passing by gossip about "why would they sell their merch? they just pushed a girl to suicide!"
>3rd party comes up to consider buying the merch but one of the people gossiping tries to let them know about the drama
>artist mentions they are not affiliated with the company and zero money goes to the company
>the gossipers immediately stop trying to convince the 3rd party and the 3rd party buys a shitty little sticker anyways
>"I shall now have a mental breakdown over this entire event"
Like holy fuck, this person has to be braindead if that's their response to how the event played out. Yeah, it sucks that all their time and investment into prepping the merch ended up getting screwed because it was revealed that NijiEN is black as
@Short but come on, you have to be tone deaf to not understand how the event will play out. It's like trying to sell "Osama, the freedom fighter of Afghanistan!" merch a week after 9/11. Then they decided to then have a pity party and blame people upset with them selling the merch of the black company instead of getting mad at the black company for making their brand radioactive.
You know what would have been the smart thing to do? They could have just put a sign up that says "due to recent events, we're donating a portion of the profits of the NijiEN merch to a mental health charity" or something. That way they could make their money back and still earn some profit instead of trying to sell merch of a radioactive brand for full profit. People will immediately feel pity for them getting screwed over instead of being annoyed with them trying to profit off the radioactive brand. Shit like this is why I've come to believe that 80% of "artists" deserve to be beaten with a rock.
