I'm in the mind that if it happens every couple of months or even a year or on milestones (i.e anniversary or bday) it's cool, but sometimes people start donothons for the smallest of things so it feels like it happens far too often.

If the streamers you're watching are so greedy that they're ruining your enjoyment of the hobby, find other ones. I like Lia and Pippa, for example, and Lia has only done one 48-hour donothon and Pippa has never run one. I'm sure you can find talents that suit your tastes that aren't constantly asking you for money.

They feel overdone, I can't bring myself to watch long streams unless they are very interesting. Subathons really do just feel like they come from twitch culture of watching streams for hours and hours where the streamer is more important than the content. Still a valid strategy as long as you can squeeze more money out of retards.

I've seen a few people break it up into a more of a streamathon thing like Naiyo doing 1 long stream a day with monetization goals along the way rather then going all the time. Personally I think it's probably a better format less burnout atleast

I doubt they'll place long un-skippable ads like Twitch does, since Twitch actively encourages streamers to dump 3 minutes of non-skippable ads on us to get max payout.
