I've heard there are utilities like power plants, including a few nuclear plants, still running Windows 3.1 and basically can't update unless they shut down and completely replace some of the controlling hardware.

In my workplace we still have computers that uses windows 3.11, xp or win ce, usually they are embedded version used for specific task and they are cut off from the network. Beside the cost cut against upgrading as long as parts are available to ship, the products created by these machines are of better quality than their modern version because the production now resolve around cutting cost and scheduled obsolescence, forcing to pay fortunes every year for upgrades, so high quality products like ours are more in demand.

Of course, the drawback is that people using them are now hyper specialists and hard to replace (cue COBOL programmers, one of the highest paid job in the world because banks still need them to maintain century old systems that would crumble if replaced)

So atleast this Rimmu guy and Aruvn are potentiallu confirmed for Holostars EN Gen 2. Also, searching Aruvn in the /vt/ archives, I found a name called "Chimon". Aparently, this guy was part of Shxtou's group and retired in early 2022.

This is what I was talking about. If Cover wants Holostars to have a future as a male idol group, then they better directly start scouting people like Chimon and launch a very strong gen. So that atleast in the EN side every indie male vtuber will first think of Holostars as a career prospect just like every female vtuber thinks of Hololive.

Can't force Vesper or Magni to do a graduation stream if they don't want to. I don't see why management would block it, since it's good for the community and usually makes a decent amount in goodbye superchats. Mostly likely they didn't care enough to sign a one day contract to play their characters one final time.

Also I find it interesting how many Hololive/stars "management bad" rrats keep circulating, when 90% of the members comments have been how helpful their managers have been. Actually scratch that, their personal managers are great, but who knows about upper management, besides the ones we know like A-chan and Yagoo.

Honestly, they had been gone for a month at that point. They probably figured it would be less painful for everyone if they didn't do the streams. Can't say I blame them.

The problem with Live is that because they are so many of them and rarely if ever they are gamers their coordination was all over the places, Towa and Botan were putting all the pressure but there is not much they can do with Astel "the mad driller:" leda is with his homies that have hanged around in tourneys and know how to cook in this situations, if you see any tourney like Vsaikyo is extremely rare to see a Liver that is not Towa or Laplus

This two things are not necessarily exclusive of each other. You get a bad manager, you bitch about him for a couple of months, eventually someone higher than him decides to check if he is a fuckup or you have menhera moment and the guy get replaced. In the perfect scenario fired, but I would guess usually just moved to a member who isn't problematic and doesn't often complain about things. It just takes one guy to get a promotion and suddenly start thinking he is god incarnate to put a massive dump on everyone's efforts until his contract runs out. Meanwhile in-between managers are stuck being the bringers of the bad news while trying not to piss him off

i have no fucking words not only is it my favorite song its also sung by kobo which puts my mood to the clouds

i need to listen to this cover and the one ragus did side by side because my lord even though im indifferent on altare and his shenanigans i respect him for actually giving the song justice and not counting the fact that his outfit is a mesh of ezreals and his own default

It's entirely possible Cover paid them extra severance to not do those streams for the same reason when security escorts laid off employees out of the building and they ship them their stuff. Especially Vesper. As much as a graduation stream would be welcome, it'd be wall to wall questions about why and a streamer that's already pretty unhinged. It's a PR Disaster waiting to happen.

For Coco and Sana, it was clearly their primary decision to retire. (Frankly, probably the better personal & business decisions for both of them.) For Vesper & Magni, I honestly think it was just an inability to reach a contract that worked for all parties. Vesper may have threatened to impale people in the negotiating process. Something we can't really discount with him.

It's also entirely possible that the Tachibana situation was the massively complicating matter and was going to impact their ability to stream for a while, at which point "leaving" was the necessary financial decision. Though I think Magni might have viewed it as a better business move to leave anyway. Though I do feel Cover should have at least gotten a "goodbye" video out of both of them.
