A lot of the ones that used 4chan in their youth likely browsed after the era of "only /a/ and /b/" but before /news/ really took off and was rebranded as /pol/, so the late 2000s typically. 4chan was mostly just known for /b/ being a big deal at the time, so a bunch of young dumb girls would visit /b/ because they naturally craved attention. 4chan's culture has changed substantially over the years (such as /k/'s degradation).

/cgl/ was always the most prominent board for women as a lot of the men that wanted to see hot chicks in cosplay would just go to one of the porn boards instead. There was A LOT of traps and fags that lived on /cgl/ though. A few of 4chan's boards were sequestered away from the general sentiment that inhibited the rest of 4chan as those boards maintained the "otaku" label and not the hellhole of trolls that 4chan became known as over the years. /mu/ and /ck/ had noticeable women populations as well. The problem though is you're looking at self-selection bias at that point. 4chan as a whole has always been overwhelmingly men, so the women that go to 4chan are outliers and they usually stick to shit like /cgl/, /mu/, /ck/, or poke their head into a porn board briefly. The women you see outside those "safer" boards were usually outcasts themselves. So it is very much what I was saying earlier, as they hide away in their own boards.

As for /vt/'s population of women, I have noticed quite a few by their writing style but overwhelmingly they're anomalies in the sea of SEAYamanbas. Even the ones that try to hint that they're women are either trolls or wo(men). The SEAfaggotry isn't limited to filipinx, even indogs are suspectible to it. Just the other day @Faceless Waifu was lusting over a man. He got so flustered even his English languages skills fell apart and he reverted to ESL mode.
