I think it was half-half because it gave spotlight to some people that deserved like Uwu but also to literal garbage like Purple Keemstar, remove your rose tinted glasses when applying judgement.
And even in the case it agrees with the majority's view, it will never be fair because the scene is too large and there's a lot of 2view diamonds in the rough that will never see the light of day, awards without strict ruling ends up as any popularity contest, and those are easily corrupted by bots, marketing (propaganda) or whims of the masses.
