The ones I know IRL have no mask and no filter. They also are taken advantage of in all their romantic relationships and struggle to have gainful employment and to maintain social connections. It could be they're just too diverged for masking. I do think that "social chameleon" is more of a neurotypical behavior though. Autism leans more to adopting 1 archetype as a mask and 1 set of "the rules" for socializing.
