There are dynamics that are taking place in the rest of the internet eventually worm their way into what you would have hoped to be your own little niche corner.

Every time i hear about TVA discord it makes me think that it should be nuked from orbit lest it becomes actually-detrimental to the forum.
Didn't some older regulars leave earlier(before my time here, that is) because of the discord drama, or am i misremembering?

More because of Proctor drama, but the discord server has prompted a lot of it despite the warnings people had before it was made and the continual proof that it does little but create drama.

This is it.

I knew exactly nothing about this site or the people on it last year. I had no opinions formed about it or the guy who ran it, and hoped for his success out of a general sense of goodwill. Any opinion I have on Proctor is formed from his personal decorum over the last year. Where that opinion lies after the last year of Proctorism is fairly self-explanatory.

By the way, to further shoot down the "everyone will hate me anyways" argument: I don't hate people even when I disagree with them, a concept I know Proctor doesn't understand because of this last debacle. And the one before it. And the one before that, and so on. I don't hate Proctor. But now I don't think he believes that, and I think he's going to keep freaking out at "haters" until there's no one left for him to interact with except for a couple of very disturbed 2-view "leakers" and whoever the fuck Alex is.

As for the new gay boyfriend, can't wait for him to become one of the magic new mods that Proctor started setting up a couple months ago so he can run the site into the shitter. We've already reached the "retard shadow mod who is the personal friend of the admin" stage of forum life, it's all downhill from here.

The Kirsche meltdown probably takes the cake. Not because you could argue it was the biggest or most explosive disagreement we've had here - and I've certainly had it out with Proctor across the forum's history at times - but because the snap banning of Takodachi and those like Rrat who questioned it, followed by (now familiar) condescension when the outcry hit, changed the culture and inserted a note of bitterness and changed expectations into the community that wasn't there before.
If you haven't been around since the beginning, it's hard to explain the difference, but interactions here were almost universally positive. There were no hard feelings, people were really engaged in posting about the chuubas they liked, and an air of general banter. Proctor could expect positive reception pretty much no matter what he posted spirits were so high with the communities founding in the wake of the Homelands drama. God forgive me for admitting this, but I actually considered volunteering as a mod the first time Proctor asked for help just because I liked this place so much, but decided against it because my schedule was too similar to Proctor's and I felt it would be redundant.
Repeat this cycle a bunch of times and now half the time Proctor gets mass migos not because of anything in particular he's saying, but just because he's the one who's saying it and people are sick of it. That should be a major red flag that your attitude is out of line. But he keeps doing it, chipping away at perception of him each time.
In the wake of that first drama I got the impression Proctor was going to be more introspective and discuss with the other mods before taking action like this, what the hell happened there? Have they been left with the actual forum community while he spirals further off into private discord asskissing? Because shit like this is genuinely doing more to damage the reputation of TVA and our community than any of the people Proctor has accused of doing so in his dramaposts. Or, like I mentioned back then, and Nene has repeated now:

Go to nolan's thread, read the first 50 pages or so and realize that the guy who replaced Nolan is not superduper, it isn't merelytourist or anyone else, it's. fucking. Proctor.

This reminds me of way back in the day when something awful began having an IRC channel, "unofficially", and one day lowtax joined up, only to get banned by the chanops because he thought it was a troll account. Lowtax went nuclear and banned any mention of IRC on the forums.

I feel this, I think in general a lot of people got slapped in the face with what kind of personality proc actually had instead of the idealized version they had in their heads, I know I did. My desperate pleas for reason in that thread speak to my panicked mental state, I have since learned to stop giving a shit.
