I have no idea, didn't look at any discussion back then. Never played any FF, but DA2 and ME3 were ok. Kinda regular sequels that fell off in quality for whatever reason. Turns out, people didn't know how good they had it when andromeda dropped.

Not a lot, bit notable people are:
ME2 oversimplified gameplay and character progression, and scanning for resources was ass, but overall had the best writing and plot in the series (T-800 Reaper aside).
ME3's writing suffered from one of the writers seizing the reins, and it being the wrong writer, leading to dropped plot threads and themes that directly contradicted buildup from the previous game, but still had a bunch of individually strong setpieces, the gameplay was the best in the series, and the multiplayer mode was very engaging. The woke stuff with the shuttle pilot was so ham-fisted that it was hard to take seriously, and if you didn't know Chobot's character was connected with IGN she wouldn't have stuck out as anything other than another romanceable side character.
