Yeah that's what pisses me off about these post-Nijidrama agencies, they all act like some kind of philanthropic selfless non-profit org and hope that will make them popular enough to offset costs.
It shows an absolute lack of understanding of why and how agencies both rise and fall in this industry and it is a bafflingly simplistic way of looking at very complex issues. Being "moral" and "good" does not equal or assure success, specially not in this bloated industry. "Doing well by your talents" is not a business strategy, nor is it a company direction, it's just cheap PR.
What companies should be doing is looking for untapped niches, doing exciting things or learning to read market trends to pioneer a new industry shift, this "We'll just let our talents do whatever they want" crap is not a direction, in fact it is as directionless as you can get and shows a complete lack of ambition or creativity. I'd honestly much rather have a hand over fist profit driven corpo that sells me a good product which is exactly what they advertised than somebody who's just banking on being "not as terrible as other people". I don't like whorepo but at least they know their niche and sell what their viewers want.
I don't wanna know how you're not like others, I wanna know what makes YOU worth paying attention to at all. All of these corpos talk more about "the industry" than themselves, if you don't have terrible practices then I'll know in less than a year, you don't need to tell me.

is ceasing operations as a Vtuber company in the next week
because it turns out we really need money
and we simply cannot float a company on the backs of a bunch of 20-something women
that aren't even funny.
So we're selling everything to Brave, pocketing the proceeds and leaving the talents to their own devices.
Maybe it'll work out, who knows, we don't care.
This was a pump-and-dump the whole time.

Artemis got a huge "early adopter" buff. They debuted shortly after Myth when Vtubing was fairly new in the west and they had a very good model which was even more rare for Western Vtubing (most were using VRoid or some other shit).
As Nene says, the streams were a snoozefest and they didn't really get many views. Also the voice was not great. More recently they got a new model (by the time of the Tenma collab) and their voice is fairly passable now. Havent checked their streams to see if they worked on the whole snooze-fest part.
