Unless you subscribe to the idea that the broad majority of entertainment media is actually just shit anyway, no matter how much it sells or spreads, because almost as commonly as mediocre media becomes the standard because it's safe to produce, easy to slap together and people are conditioned to just accept it because their options are all equally beige uninspired slop, there's also the fact that there are more than enough people in positions to push their own social agenda in media to try to force their own perspective on people hoping to achieve the same kind of mindless consumption that the endless beige enjoys. You can see that all over the place these days and it's not going well, with all the DEI shit going on people are at least pushing back against it to some degree, but it's been a slope for a while that's pushed this kind of stuff out that's flopped and then the people behind it just turn around and cry about racists or bigots for not just enjoying something that is a paint-by-numbers checklist of hot Twitter political topics instead of any kind of enjoyable program.

Thankfully there is pushback and failures keeping this from becoming the norm, but it's that kind of angle that the people behind this kind of stuff are relying on. Being so normalized that it's just accepted without question and bleeds into the zeitgeist of just passing acceptance despite it's inclusion only dragging down all it touches. The general state of media is already pretty dire as it is with more going into retreading familiar and nostalgic ground than actually innovating or trying anything new. Maybe less applicable to music specifically but I'd imagine anything that's safe enough to make regular rounds on public radio has pretty much set the course.

This has been my gay whining on shit I wish wasn't the case. VTubers? I hear you ask. Just look at all the copycats, react andys and other endless cycles of the samey streamers following the big names moves in the hopes they get pulled into the slipstream and don't drown.

Some of these microcorpo owners are definitely nobodies or just techbros with VC money. Anyway apart from Niji and Brave why would a massive corpo go take advice from a corpo which is new and has no experience and has just IMPLODED? Seems like a retarded move imo.

Most importantly PROOF? You said on stream the other day you have nothing on Hololive so this just seems like assumptions and speculation. In industries it tends to be the other way around, the biggest corpos set practices that work and everyone else follows suit, I'd like to know how the vtuber industry works bottom to top with the best and most successful corpos being influenced by people who aren't successful at all in the market.

Oh, we're just rratting, rather than discussing this seriously.

Most microcorpos aren't serious, just like most micro businesses in the entertainment. They're made by people that want to groom egirls or someone who's lucked into some money that thought that managing a vtuber company would be a lark. Most microcorpos don't have a business plan, the CEO doesn't understand the vtubing market, and doesn't have any of the necessary skills to run a business, let alone one with as many pitfalls as vtubing does.

He can't because he's likely talking to some talent or ex-manager or something and that person vented and cried to him about all of the shitty things the CEO of their corpo did but told him to not tell anyone, because then some legal shit or drama shit would go down. Proctor can't tell us without that person knowing, and the second Proctor becomes a snitch then the entire EN small corpo and indie scene will be hostile to him because they all know each other, and then he can no longer slip into people's DMs to fish for drama.

The thing is, he vagueposts and forms his opinions around this drama he can't drop, so he ends up arguing against people who do not possess all of the same info as him and that obviously causes arguments. Imagine playing TTRPG with a dude who knows the whole layout of the dungeon and all of the story beats, it would be pretty annoying to try to discuss things with a dude who knows more than you but won't tell you. The smart thing would be to not say anything and stop vagueposting, but that is not gonna happen.
