I don't know why people cling to this idea. She didn't want to be a vtuber and very quickly decided not to, then ran out her contract till she could dip. To this day she has never done any other vtuber work, acknowledged her former fans, or done anything of the sort. If her 'back injury' prevented her from streaming, what was it about art that enabled her to do that instead? Did sitting in a chair drawing magically alleviate it, while sitting in a chair streaming made it worse?
Her excuses were all copes, and I have no idea why her fans are so desperate to pretend they weren't dumped by someone who never even put the smallest, most insignificant amount of effort into reconnecting or leveraging her past life success. You don't drop a career as one of the largest streamers on earth with hundreds of thousands of subscribers (even the lowest-CCV'd Holo is still in the top 0.001% of streamers worldwide) with such complete and total finality if you were just forced out by circumstance and totally wanted to stay.

The 3D content itself can be read as them trying to fill out checklist before their talents inevitably left. Maybe they placating them to stay by providing 3D, maybe they got brown-beaten to make the 3D, who really knows.
Either way, it's no longer exciting to see Niji3D debuts anymore, at least for EN branch. JP is still probably selling like hot cakes.

Ao is friends with the pizza gang from VCR GTA5, one of whom is Reimu. Gura's first few months have been unmatched by pretty much anybody. Going off of Vox's socialblade, he never cracked 150,000 monthly subs in the months following his debut, and plateaued at 1.35 M long before the Selen drama hit. Gura, on the other hand? She hit a million subs in little over a MONTH. Vox took seven months to do what Gura did in 40 days.

Well gura is basically impossible to replicate... she was the biggest chuuba, of one of the biggest agencies, in the biggest year for vtubers, breaking into a new market who were adopting the hobby en-masse. Literal lightning in a bottle success, that's why she's the poster child for the boom.
The only context I have ever seen for this "incident," is that some schizos started shitting up her and her peers' maros accusing her of dressing up in slutty cosplay for attention. She's done several recorded footage streams of visiting various places and going over them with her chat. She did a Disneyland Japan "date" with her chat after the Comiket one. She also recently recorded herself touring the village that Higurashi is based off of (or one very similar to it).
I wouldn't be surprised if Nene has a boyfriend, but I can't imagine it'd be very enjoyable to go together when she records these outings. She includes the audio, so they wouldn't be able to talk much and he would always have to be mindful of staying out of the frame.

Reimu just talked about this on her stream, apparently while she was in Japan she hung out in Disneyland with some of the women of the pizza gang, including Ao. I'm happy for her, not only we get some unity love but it seems she really enjoys their company

- Complained because the priest that remove Guilt charged her to much but then she admit it was because she die to many times (and if you are 100% you need to clean guilt a lot of times to obtain a relic, contrary to blasphemy 1 recovering your ghost after you got killed dont restore your guilt)
