it's always the spices. Indian Curry is sweeter (depending on the city) from what ive been told Japenese in general is more spicy (depending on the prefecture it's from)

I spend a lot of time researching restaurants around my area to find the best places, out of personal interest and 'professional' curiosity. I know places that do pretty good authentic dishes that are vouched for by people I know from those cultures.
You were told wrong, this is pretty much completely reversed.
Can more or less confirm it's the other way, both depend on regional but japanese curry does tend to sweeter, especially in the chains.
