This is part of the "Vtubers who are good at singing"relay organised by Hoshimeguri's Mochimochi Sakura. Compared to yesterday's relay organised by Asano Ruri they are far more obscure indies (Nanoha, Nemea, and Hinari may have been in another relay, Toiki's mama is Ayamy so she looks familiar and she just got her channel restored after ban just like Ayamy's other former daughter). Might worth listening for finding less known talented singers, remember most start somewhere especially indies and are just waiting for that algorithm break sometimes.

Hoshikawa Sara continuing Blue Archive at 2PM JST. Very close to her first time hearing Unwelcome School in game.
She's lucky in her starting pull getting Iori who is voiced by her oshi Sakura Ayane (screamed "Ayaneruuu!" in joy). Likes Yoshimi from the current characters she has seen.
Fellow Orihimeboshi member Yamagami Karuta also started her playthrough, getting a great starter pull (Shiroko, Haruna, Hibiki).
I really like Yama's outfit, worrying though since she's quite some menhera.
What they got from their orders were:
Noel: Glenfarclas 10. Haven't tried anything from this distillery yet. As stated in the stream it's still family owned. Output is inconsistent so you can get something great or if you're unlucky it will taste like sulfur. Dry fruits note from sherry styled whisky.
Pekora: Glendronach 12. Had this one, nice sherry matured whisky. Dried fruit note and bold nutty flavour. More disgruntled customers though after Brown-Forman bought it and some questionable decisions by the corpo (massively increased prices, removing NCF label and told customers to get over it, also perceived decrease in overall quality). Brown-Forman also owns Jack Daniels and I recall some controversy with a troon, maybe the similar creature involved with Bud Light.
Marine: Caol Ila 12. Her first impression was "bacon". Good start if you want to try peated whisky from Islay (who had issues with pirates way back). Owned by Diageo though so pricing it outrageous but often discounted so wait for sale.
Flare: Baileys on the rocks (can't handle strong alcohol and with 40% being the minimum legal alcohol content for whisky she can't). Never tried this but someone I know ordered Baileys and milk in a bar and got bantered for years.
For the archive autists in this world here is a heads up, two weeks late: Oboretai is deleting all their Niji clips on 3/31 (what fucking timezone?). Second channel. That's a good amount of context going up in smoke so if you want anything this is the last call.

I was just thinking, Scotland seemed like a bit of an odd choice to go filming Hololive stuff. I just couldn't imagine a bunch of Japanese girls acting all cute and talking funny going down too well with the locals. The bar staff in that clip certainly didn't seem too impressed.

tbh I don't think indies can. I'll be honest, I would less interested in vtubers/Hololive if it weren't for these huge concerts and events like HoloFes. A lot of HoloEN's activities throughout the year feel like training arcs and challenges leading up to these big events where we the fans see the culmination of their efforts. The weaker singers and dancers practice on and off stream, get in shape, and we see their improvements over the years (lol Ame and Noel). The whole thing is a celebration, something greater than just a bunch of weeblet girls streaming games, react content and making cute noises.
But concerts and events are expensive, indies will have trouble pulling it off regularly while remaining profitable. We'll see if smaller and midsized corpos like Phase can pull it off but for most I'd suggest indies stick to Vshojo's model of just loose alliances of collab partners or OTV-like virtual streamer house.
