This happens a lot in countries without a proper monetary exchange system that doesn't keep a registry of everything. I think they got scammed, plain and simple, saw this happens sometimes, asked my fellow yellows living there, they confirmed it's really annoying to get money back in Japan because they treat money like they're in the 1800s.

AKKSCSJUALLY He wrote a script and then the studio butchered the fuck out of it, he hated it but they already had the rights so he couldn't do anything, then they credited him for the shit script which he had such a loathing for that he never forgave them even right before dying. The new movie wasn't made until AFTER his death because this one made him have a fucking hatred of adaptations.
