When elfin did her live cam cosplay megumin stream it was obvious she was a turbo e-girl.

I'd extend that notion to any vtuber whose "handcam" or "cooking" streams are used to showcase their body like a sex doll.

Imagine a Walmart that sells items in bulk, which works well if you have a big family or need a lot of something (i.e. meat, paper towels, etc). They require you to get an annual membership to shop there. Compared to Walmart, Costco stands out positively because they pay good wages and don't treat their employees like shit, so customer service tends to be far more friendly. Since they only really sell things in bulk, the prices of most things tend to be fairly high even if the unit price is good, hence why other posters have said the wealthy tend to shop there (or Indians).

Not only that but their other loss leader is underpriced gasoline. Costco membership pays for itself in gasoline savings alone.

People here were more amused at the fact that a JP girl is leading this charge, and, since JP girls aren't a priority, nobody really cared much.
There's been some worry that other girls will follow suit with the newly-relaxed guidelines allowing for full-body from neck down streams, but so far, i think, only two have - Memory with a cooking cam set up, and Rie, once, for some unpacking if i recall.

Some personal notes:
- His not being able to travel was always going to make things difficult, this last off-collab noctyx had was nice but hard to replicate
- His Legatus 505 legend being finished presents a nice opportunity to exit on a high note, similarly to Mayuzumi Kai from JP
- His PL content was pretty different from what he did as Fulgur. He did a lot more content based around dark and BL fiction, including reviews and live readings, which were never going to be possible under Nijisanji

Why is she in a vtuber company then? There's multiple brands and companies interested in beautiful women streaming while doing stuff casually, there's an insane number of e-girls invited to SF6 events weekly in Japan.
She could be a succesful fleshie and go her own way, much more than stalling her own potential under these limitations.

In all honesty, that's a question i have asked myself regarding Loki even before she started pushing for flesh-streaming. She's definitely the odd one out.
But she has a consistent schedule and actively interacts with her fanbase on twitter, so, it would seem she's enjoying the experience.

They want to see comments like "you look so good" "you are beautiful baby". I've gotten Giri in my twitch and youtube recommended from time to time in 2024, basically as she was slowly switching to RL streaming more and more often, and from my personal impression the content she wanted/wants to make just didn't really fit vtubing overall. Like cooking streams will fundamentally work better when you can see what the cook is doing around the kitchen, and she seems to do a lot of "zatsu while walking around" streams which are just impossible with a model.
