I think you're overthinking it and the simpler explanation is that she sympathizes with not being able to tell your side of the story when you feel you're being unfairly disparaged. I don't see any connection to Yuri in what she said.

Looking at her model upclose makes me appreciate the soft, sketchy style on the outlines. It's a subtle detail but I like it.
