Emma's ult is an AOE stun and silence and charm? That's a lot of counterplay in one ability. She's pretty stacked.
I have to figure it takes a long ass time to charge it up in a normal game you can ult 3-6 times depending on the champ. I suspect this might be a 1 or 2 per game but yes shutting off the more annoying ults is stupidly powerful and ill prolly play her for that reason alone.

I do note she has no mobility it seems and no bullshit range like reed to make up for it in fact it seems even shorter then cloaks beam. I see no reason to not just stay in diamond form just like how theres like no reason to really use hawkeyes explosive arrows or that switching guns with punisher is sometimes killing your damage output.

I have to keep reminding myself that none of these characters are main universe or rather the writers are just haphazardly mixing storylines to make the nostalgia hit.

Just came across the most blatantly boosted Celestial player in existence.
-Bronze 1 in S0, not for lack of trying as he put in 68 games and had a 29% win rate
-Suddenly Celestial 3 in Season 1 with 284 games but a 41.2% win rate
-0 games played in Season 1.5, probably to hold onto that position

This dude clearly just lost a ton more games in Season 1 and then had someone boost him to Celestial 3. Funny thing is he probably doesn't realize he has to play 10 games of competitive this last week of Season 1.5 to get rewards for it.

are you honestly surprised that GGG's looked at their most successful launch ever and decided to double-down on it?

Schedule 1 is still rolling along. A mostly single player game is sitting at PUBG's average player base. This is going to sell 10 million copies this year.

Is it really that good or is a case of the game being not broken and streamers picking it up? Cause from the graphics alone the dude bought those assets off of unity. Not that I'm against it but I've seen plenty of games having similar models and all of them are coded by apes.

Emperor of the Fading Suns has had a major update 28 years after release, so it's older than most VTubers and their fans, and is now on steam as an "Enhanced Edition". If you're paranoid, secure your copy of the OG game on GOG, which in a normal society shouldn't even be a concern! But with Blizzard setting the precedent of removing their titles from GOG when they release enhanced editions themselves, better safe than sorry!

In other autism game news, GNOMES - taking one look at it should speak for itself. Will YOU repel the Goblin menace, as your forefathers did before you?:

LONESTAR picks up where FTL left off, with steam workshop support. You want min-maxing autism, you'll get it:

Zoomers, get out! This is Boomer country.

He nailed the Game Play Loop. Reports is it kind of unravels around the 20-25 hour mark, but you can play Breaking Bad with your friends. It's not quite the Civ "one more turn" effect, but it's a very well done implementation of the Sim Builder type of gameplay. It's probably got a more functional mapping system than anything Ubisoft has put out in a decade. It obviously borrows from a lot of other games (a lot of GTA influence), but it puts it together cleanly and hits that autism itch for a number of people.

i.e. something a team of 1000 "game developers" lack the skill to do.

Oh yeah, the title being in early access means that the game will have to end at some point. If the developer is able to answer the question of "how to keep people playing at endgame", combined with opening it up to modding, its future is secured.

Soon we'll see Schedule I clones trying to ape its success, without understanding why it caught on or otherwise not iterating beyond "make same thing but slightly different", much like clones of other breakout indies. The more developers learn to focus on how good the gameplay is, the higher the chance of success they will have! If a game is fun enough that you don't need to pay streamers to play it, you're on the right track.

It has a solid gameplay loop. One of the main addicting aspects is that you can mix drugs with various ingredients to create new strains with new effects. There's like 15 different ingredients you can mix in 1 at a time each with a different effect. So you can add flu medicine to your meth and it will now have a sedating effect while an energy drink gives an athletic effect. However if you add enough effects to a drug, more ingredients may mix with a current effect to make a new one, as there is way more than 15 different effects. So if you have a drug with sedating and mix in an energy drink, the athletic effect will be added but it will replace the sedating effect with a munchies effect. Sometimes these new mixes may produce a more valuable product or mixing produced a less valuable product.

So it rewards a lot of experimentation as you can create a drug with a high price point that you can also name. For example, I was making some high-end weed with tons of mixes and I called the final product "Professor Purp". Eventually I need to transition over to selling meth but I wanted to keep my weed operation going. The problem was that I had a limited amount of space, so I ended up only mixing 1 ingredient with the weed as I reserved most of my resources towards meth production. However the initial ingredient I mixed with my weed in the pipeline to make "Professor Purp" produced "Dean's List", a product that was only slightly more expensive than the base weed product. So I ended up mixing adderall with my base weed to make a better low-end product I called "Study Buddy" while I was selling high quality meth I called "Orange Tongue".

Between the mixing autism and the whole "number goes up" as you make more profits and expand your cartel, it's not hard to see why it popped off. Seeing as how dealers take a 20% cut from sales, multiplayer works out well as some people can focus on drug production while others are dealing. It's early access but there's still a lot the dev can expand on because the base gameplay loop is solid.

This post reminded me how much I was seeing people glaze up Valve during the last few days after the Switch 2's price reveals. While Steam is good and it is really good that we have a service that is generally pro-consumer on that front. Valve as a Video Game developer is abysmal right now. Even past the rumors of a Half Life 3 the current state of things is like;

  • Counter Strike 2 still has barely any content and all the more lootboxes and gambling (which Valve totally has no data on guys). Along with Chinese botfarms plaguing their game in a similar vein to what happened to tf2.
    • A community attempt to just "go back to CSGO" where there was content being CS: Classic Offensive was hit with the classic "uhhh... no." last month.
  • Team Fortress 2 will likely continue limping in the current state where Valve went halfway on trying to make it a competitive shooter. There will unlikely ever be an attempt to revert the shitty balancing they did to appease the competitive community or an attempt to revamp or revert the current matchmaking system.
    • The Bandaid solutions of just go to [Community Server] where they retool/rebalance the weapons themselves is just that, a bandaid solution. Valve should be doing these things, not the community IMO.
    • I will also add here that Valve dropping an SDK for TF2 means nothing for the majority of players. I personally have no real interest in learning how to mod TF2 and currently have no interest in playing Open Fortress (what is essentially Quake with a TF2 skin), TF2C or TF2 Gold Rush.
  • I've completely fallen out of the Dota 2 community news cycle but AFAIK they're doing alright, I think?
  • Deadlock went from a consistent regular update cycle to a more inconsistent one after Valve's winter vacations this year. Not a bad sign or anything as the game is still in alpha.
I get that there's likely an "all hands on deck" for HLX (which will eventually be announced sometime soon™️) and whoever isn't working on HLX is probably working on Deadlock/Dota 2 but Valve is really dropping the ball on maintaining their other live-service games.

don't undervalue "same but different" That's the core of boomershooters as a genre. Also Terraria and a bunch of others.
