Damn
I disliked modern capeshit, hero shooters and the chinks and this fucking game still got a 5 hour session outta me before i caved and splurged 5 dollary doos for my first ever battlepass
About the same here, and all the talk here and from my friends is pushing me closer and closer to actually wanting to try it out.

Might look into it this weekend or some time soon. Didn't think I'd care to try it out until everyone kept saying it reminds them of old OW1 over and over, and I remembered actually having fun with that.

Damn you all.

Who knew all you had to do is have a decently fun game and give most female characters a decent ass
Bro, tell me about it. I've never been much for shooters because I just never put in the time to get my aim good. But even then, there are heroes I can play really effectively even with garbage aim. I'm so into it I've even looked into some aim trainer applications to try and work on improving my aim overall so I can play better. A shooter has never gotten its claws so deep into me, not even Overwatch 1.

I'm glad to see it's really doing well. Everyone was worried it was going to be mobile game trash when it first premiered. It's great to see it has a massive amount of soul and they're clearly interested in putting out a high quality product.

Yeah, I remember everyone looking at it at first and thought it was going to be some garbage slop that'll die in a week. Turns out it's quality product that clearly has signs that the devs really miss old OW and they actually put a lot of thought into replicating the feel of playing some characters. If you played the Insomniac Spider-Man games, controlling Spider-Man's webswinging comes second nature. Meanwhile despite numerous attempts, this is the first game to actually feel like you're playing Iron Man. They could easily take the template of Iron Man's gameplay here, add in some more moves and mechanics and boom, there's your solo Iron Man game ready to go.

The only three marvel characters that don't have "has a prior DC equivalent" for sure are Namor, the Human Torch (golden age) and Cap. That's all I remember, maybe there's more. But typically, marvel editors would peep through DC's keyhole and come back with new ideas during the silver age.

  • Mr Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist) released start of the first half, with Human Torch (presumed duelist) and The Thing (presumed vanguard) added in the second half.
  • 3 new maps based in New York, split release as well
4 new characters and 3 new maps is a huge amount of content for 1 season, in Overwatch terms it's basically like they just released Marvel Rivals 2. The nerfs and buffs seem pretty reasonable as well. It's interesting that Cloak & Dagger are the only heroes that got a buff after the season bonus thing - I guess the devs feel like they are underperforming still (kind of true looking at their win rate being 2nd lowest out of supports, next to Jeff)

I think part of the problem too is that Mantis and Luna Snow (and their respective ults) are just too damn good. I'm rather shocked neither of them got a slight adjustment. I think most people wouldn't argue knocking Luna's ultimate from 12 seconds to 8-10 seconds.

The whole thing with Luna's ult, despite being the best in the game, can be countered by just 1-shotting her. Hawkeye can headshot her with a charged arrow while Iron Man and Magneto ults both do the job and they are very common picks. Same thing applies to Mantis.

C&D's ult just isn't that great and requires your team to pay attention and stand in it instead of you making sure they're in the zone as Luna or Mantis. You get 3 streaks, which each do 220 HPS. You can stack the healing but there's no point when you're healing for that much. The damage is only 30 DPS though, so it's just not much of a threat to use offensively. Add in that each streak only lasts for 5 seconds and it's really kind of sad.

One of the maps (Sanctum Sanctorum) is also for a FFA game mode. So yeah, they're dumping all sorts of content for Season 1 compared to OW. Season 2 (3 months from now) is supposedly going to be Ultron and Blade. Ultron was suppose to be Season 1 but got delayed to Season 2. Blade is supposedly captured by Dracula, so ending the season/defeating Dracula will release him, so that's why he comes in Season 2.

There are some rumors about them considering some PvE content but who knows if that will come out this year.

If they ever release PvE content Blizzard will be deservedly meme'd on for all eternity.

Meanwhile, let the Goblin Canuck show off the Battle pass skins

The Peni and Scarlet Witch skins are the freebies.

Post-game POE2 vibe check:

Apparently they spent like 100 million dollars and 5 years developing this? Everything in the endgame feels like an excuse to try and get you onto their shit trade website and keep you in the "shitty 2000s MMO" mindset.

It isn't the 2000s anymore. I get that GGG wants a high player count, I get that GGG wants people to use their fucking site, I get that they want people to sink so much time into the game they'll spend an extra 30 dollars on shitty cosmetics. But I have better games to play that actually want to be a game, not a desperate timesink with no rewards. Waiting 5 hours for a key to drop so I can do a gauntlet once, which has a spot for 3 additional keys at the end, which you have to farm by doing the 5-hour gauntlet multiple times, for an item that's not even an upgrade? No thanks. And that's the least egregious example of timesink gaming. No one is going to do that when they could just play Archmage Stormweaver and buy everything they need on the trade site with Divine Orbs.

Man. The actual campaign was pretty good, though it dragged in a couple spots. But the further you get into the end-game, the more you can feel them trying to find excuses to artificially inflate play time via drops and such. Thanks GGG, but I'm not particularly interested.

Pulled this from Seagull's stream, looks like her personal healing is limited to being invisible.

Apparently he was saying C&D's ult now has 4 dashes instead of 3 and the aoe is fatter. Hela is also down to 250 hp from 275 hp. No idea what they've done to Storm but Seagull is saying Storm is popping off almost every match.

EDIT: From what I can tell, Storm's movement speed is faster and her primary fire does more damage. Unsure on whether the projectile speed is faster. Maybe the falloff damage is less or the falloff range starts later.

EDIT: So far from all the EA I've seen: Storm is strong now, Sue is pretty good, and Fantastic is absolutely busted. Also Sue has a fat ass, especially in her Malice skin. They're going to print money with Sue.

I feel like Storm's kit had some potentially great utility but it was lacking in some aspects, I'm looking forwards to the next season. The new heroes look great as well. Whoever was in charge of designing and balancing the hero abilities has been killing it. (hopefully they also nerfed Hela's ult)

FFA mode in the Sanctum appears to have perma-portals, going to make the layout of the place really interesting

Some more changes people noticed:
  • Bucky has 275 HP instead of 250 HP and his abilities give him 40 bonus HP instead of 30 bonus HP
  • Wolverine has 350 HP instead of 300 HP
  • Cap has 675 HP instead of 650 HP, supposedly faster movement speed
  • Squirrel Girl ult moves faster and it homes
  • Namor turrets get thrown and deploy faster
  • Hela does less bodyshot damage
  • Moonknight ult is bigger aoe
  • Hawkeye focus charges much slower now
  • Storm supposedly now gets headshots on her primary fire. They appear to be faster fire rate too and look to be much faster projectile speed
That Moon Knight ult being bigger is actually really scary. That shit hits really hard and people don't consider it being super strong right now purely because they quickly move out of it. It drops 4 meteors per second and each one does 75 damage, I've seen it kill Lunas' ulting and thinking they didn't need to move because of their ult.

These all make sense, Hawkeye going from 0 to 100 in like a second was absurd, SG ult was probably the worst in the game, and Storm's projectiles were laughably slow.

These are more questionable, giving characters faster MS out of sprint is a very tricky proposition, less dmg - how much less? Hela definitely needed a nerf, but i hope they didn't go the tried and tested route of "nuke into unviability".
And yeah MK is already super annoying in QP, gonna get even more so.

SG ult was really good if you were in a corridor and could bounce the ult off walls so it would hit multiple times very quickly since it only hits for 150 each time it connects. Unfortunately there isn't actually a lot of corridors along payload routes or around capture points, so you would be lucky to get a second bounce in a lot of cases and those consecutive bounces would be far enough apart in time that people could easily avoid it or quickly recover with healing. Hawkeye's charge was also stupid as fuck since it was only 0.9 second charge time on the arrow pull and 0.9 second charge time of aiming to build the focus bonus, so you just have to look at someone for a second to throw an arrow for most of a non-tank's HP.

I'm watching Necros's VOD where he checked out some characters in the practice mode. Cap's Liberty Rush/Shield Charge is now 10s instead of 12s CD. Hela's nerfs appear to be because of the seasonal 20% damage bonus got dropped to 15% for Season 1. Against the Galacta Bots (250 HP), a headshot and bodyshot doesn't kill anymore, it leaves a sliver of HP. He tried bodyshots against Bucky (275 HP) and it took 4 bodyshots.

I've been reading everywhere that people are saying, "I want to play the schizo girl dating game Miside, but Mita is too attractive. Is there any way to fix this?"

Thankfully, there's now a mod that will let you put Mita in yoga pants, and no guy has ever thought a young woman wearing yoga pants was attractive. Take that, gooners (who don't have to download the mod anyway).
