50 guides across 7 writers is pretty much just 1 guide a day. I recall reading article about how guides are the biggest source of traffic for Kotaku, so this isn't surprising at all.

The gaming industry is such a meme

Is it full on guides for games or is it just like, "how to do beat [Insert Boss Here]" because if it's that then you can get like 10 quality ones in a day, but that's if you actually, you know, play games.

I'd assume it's just anything basic that will drive traffic to the site. Simple "how to beat boss X" can be written up pretty quickly and will draw a bit of traffic from casuals looking up guides.

EDIT: Can basically just load up something like BG3, knock through some boss fights, and explain the mechanics and a basic strategy.

If Fextralife can be a successful website just off the back of scraping other wikis for info and random anons posting blatantly wrong and incorrectly filled out template pages, then milking it for ads, I don't see what these crybabies have to scream about.

Um, if I can't scream about the evil racists sexist homophobic transphobic gamer and how trump is bad and socialism is good, then what's the point?

It's just an easy way to grind faction rep.
Hi I'm here weeks late cause I forgor that this thread existed, and had to tell you that I fucking died at this. My ribs hurt. From now until the end of time I will call utterly pointless virtue signaling etc. "grinding faction rep". It really is the only reason that the mentally (and actually) 15 year olds on Twatter post about "social issues".

Because that requires some effort, regardless of how minimal it is, while screeching like a lunatic takes no effort.

So turns out Dragon's Dogma 2 is at "Mostly Negative" on Steam because the optimization is dogshit and Capcom loaded up like $40 in mtx on release day. The DLC honestly doesn't seem too bad as everything is gacha Pay2MakeGameEasier (except you have to pay like $2 to change your edit your character's looks). It's mainly just Capcom's embarrassingly anti-consumer practices where they wait for the reviews to pour in and then they slide those mtx in. In regards to performance, it's apparently really bad and people have taken to slaughtering NPCs wholesale to improve game performance.

Stellaris boys, it's time to genocide populations for CPU performance again

In other news, Larian has stated they aren't going to make any expansions for BG3 and won't be working on BG4, they're going to do their own thing. Probably because Hasbro/WOTC are a bunch of turbo jews that fired a bunch of the guys from WOTC that were working with Larian on the game and likely inflated the license renewal for Larian because BG3 completely blew up in size.

The Sandland demo kinda sucks. Which is disappointing, because I was really hoping the game would be good.

Sucks gameplay wise? Or just easy?

Asking as I was interested in the game as well.

Gameplay wise. Maybe they fixed it for the actual game, but the enemies are a mixture of way too easy and way too hard. The majority you can defeat with a couple of hits, but then you have the robots. These things are constantly jumping while firing bombs at you. You'll get maybe one hit in before it jumps up and away, while exploding you. And every time it explodes you, you fall to the ground and take a few seconds to push yourself up. Then they'll bomb you again as you're getting up, before jumping away.

You can use one of your party's abilities to kill them... but your party members are retarded, so it's likely that they'll attack one of the enemies that you can easily crush.

Oh, and then there's the guys on motorcycles that are too fast to keep up with, and you don't have any ranged attacks to use on. And that have more fucking explosives.

That said, I'm wondering if they just fucked up the demo by turning off leveling for it. It looks like you're supposed to be able to learn new skills, and probably increase your stats.

Edit: I'd suggest trying it for yourself, though. It's a pretty quick download, and it's free. Maybe I just don't enjoy this type of game, and you'd like it more than I did.

Been playing some DD2 tonight and can confirm game runs like shit. Running with a good pc. I can get the game somewhat running with max settings. However, messing around with graphic settings, I can never get stable 60fps. It fluctuates in towns with the NPCs and I noticed when journeying around and a random pawn is on the road there's a slight dip. like the game is loading a pawn from the network.

I do like the gameplay so far, but I don't understand how the game can be running this bad. for the graphics are nice, but nothing to write home about. If you play MH World, you going to see the same levels of graphics I argue. That came out six years ago.

I can see them either doing a new IP or going back to Divinity Original Sin with a third game. Also I think in meantime the head Larian developer is working on a new fishing game, they kind of got invested in them during Covid.

It gets worse. The second week sales were posted today.
Unicorn Overlord kicked FF7 Rebirth out of the number 1 spot with a combined sales total of 74,186 copies between the Switch and PS4.

You read that right, the sales of FF7 Rebirth in Japan dropped by 91% in its second week.

Apparently the Switch version of Unicorn Overlord was actually capped because Atlus didn't expect it to sell that well and distributors ran out of physical editions.
3rd Week is even worse as expected.
1. [NSW] Unicorn Overlord (ATLUS, 03/08/24) – 16,012 (56,003)
2. [PS5] Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (Square Enix, 02/29/24) – 11,497 (298,635)
3. [NSW] Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Nintendo 04/28/17) – 9,031 (5,748,900)
Sales for FF7 Rebirth dropped by more than half and the game has yet to break the 300k benchmark in Japan. At this rate, FF16's first 4 days of sales (336k) will be greater than FF7 Rebirth's first month of sales.

Meanwhile Unicorn Overload's PS5 version has dropped off the top 10 chart altogether while its Switch version holds first place for the second week in a row, even with there being shortages with the Switch version because they didn't expect the game to break 100k across both platforms.
