He's literally talked to Pippa before. IIRC Metokur and Kirsche are on eachother's Steam friendslist and Jim has even gifted her a game before (Earth Defense Force 5 I think?). So yes he would be open to it, but the main hurdle is finding a timeslot that works with his health.

Vice makes it a "vtuber problem" when the only people in the industry who even give a shit are a bunch of indies and dramafags, to everyone else it's just a regular monday. I think the community at large would care more about Pekora's mom going on stream than this bullshit.

It has never been a monolith, even in the early days there were different groups and factions, after 2020 and the boom there was no chance of it being unified. You have the big JP corpos, the small JP corpos, JP indies, JP Holo wannabes, Korea, Indogs, flips, chinks, taiwanese, Vshojo and the twitch clique, EN indies on YT, brave's EN circle, small EN corpos, EN corpo reformists after selengate, whores, artists with models, vsingers, ex-corpo talents, 2views, vtweeters, all of the fan circles and communities, and many many more subdivisions of each.
The JP and EN sides of the industry are already completely divorced from one another since 2020 and as more time passes you see less and less people from one side care about the other.
Here i thought women were the socialites...
I don't know what Vice is expecting. For every vtuber engaging in the culture war, there's a hundred more that can ignore it and be completely fine. There's no equivalent corporate sphere for them to target. Even the sponsors here are different, vtuber fans actually put their money where their mouth is.
It's just doomed to failure from the beginning, if Vice expects this to be the next gamergate.
