I'm gonna be honest, I have no stake in this whatsoever I personally vehemently despise Offkai's organizers and think they should not be supported in any way because they openly despise the people they host & their fans so I'd literally never go there which makes my opinion on this not really relevant to the actual target demo but I'm an optimist and hope that the grill meet thing can actually happen in some form that doesn't end up being a disaster. It's a cute idea. I hope something can be done.

I think the biggest issue is she underestimates how big she is, and how many people will come even as non fans, free food allure is a real thing especially at a con. She also has the entire "It's of convivence with meet and greets at cons, this is out of the way no one will show up!" People are going to show up if they think they can meet her, and most people think she'd go if it happens, despite her saying she wouldn't. On top of that, you'd have people again, not from the community showing up for food and possibly for her, also because tons of people try to get to all of these kinds of get togethers if they can at a con.

The problem is that she's trying to organise this herself which makes it look "official" and puts a degree of responsibility on her, which could backfire much worse than if she just called in to an event a bunch of fans had already set up.

With proper planning ahead of time with Fishfag and co. locked in from minute one it could work, but trying to scramble something together at the last minute without even a rough estimate of how many people will show up is a disaster waiting to happen - especially since you can't trust the retards from chat to not make a scene in public.

the easiest way to do it is have some grills and tables set up and make it a bring your own food - kind of like a potluck style. the only costs would be charcoal and manpower to organize it.

Naysayers have a point (though I really don't think that many people will show up because it's not part of the con and is so last-minute), but I don't consider this an appropriate way to act towards the streamer. They were kinda being shitters.

the issue is where and their parks require reserving for organized groups n shieeeet. looked at their local gov webpage all parks near by for picnics are reserved so you'd have to hope to get lucky at a neighborhood place and/or really yolo it and hope your group isn't too big and the other reserved groups don't get mad. cali and their regs are gay as fuck mane. im all for doing it yolo style tho as long as the grill master is local and it doesn't put them out too bad. meat, especially enough meat to feed 20+, is expensive.

It was just a fan meet up, it doesn't need to be complicated or require permits.

They couldjust say they are homeless and Cali will leave them along and probably give them the grills & food & meth.

I don't really like it either, but she does have the issue where she only really listens to concerns people have once they get angry with her. When its something that only affects her or her streams, sure, people might take a bit to get to that point. But like Hff201 said, her front running this and going so far as to offer to front the bill makes it something that's her and phase's responsibility if something went wrong and she was handwaving a lot of the tamer concerns people were already voicing.
