Night shifts, even if they grant a higher wage, are often not good fits for the average person long term. Grind at spawn, cut the drinking budget, and change for the better. Browns have a low time preference, have the high time preference. And I 100% echo what planetary bombardment said. It is so much easier to get a job while employed than to find one after you quit. You've been drunk often lately and take it from someone who knows, alcohol is very insidious in that it will allow you to trick yourself into thinking it's ok and into making excuses why you're only having a drink with meal for flavor, or that you need one more because it helps with stress.

Looking it up the raw way and taking Germany for example it's entirely defendant on the nature of the work, the employment contract, and the reason for quitting/firing (what's in the contract, is it seasonal work, what is the reason for firing/letting go of the employee(s)). I have no interest in practicing EU employment law, but speaking generally, assuming it's applicable/legal, consistent gainful employment would look good/better to a prospective employer more than lots of gaps. I couldn't find anything about there being a rule against discriminating between potential candidates based on their prior employment history baring protected characteristics (very similar to US protected characteristics).
Germany is fun in that it does require 1 month as a base unless they're a fuck up to fire them.

Night shifts can deteriorate your health too, if you're at it too long. It can really sneak up on you. Just late night isn't so bad, but actual over night shifts can do some damage over say a decade.

I'm genuine in this case, and when someone knows how long it was between drinks there's usually a reason. Can't say I've ever had instance with harder substances, but I'm by no means immune to dependency even if I can remain high functioning, so just keep in mind that we as people are really good about lying to ourselves and finding excuses to partake in bad habits that might not manifest negatively for a long period of time before becoming a problem that's too big to wrangle.

Drinking while you're going through a hard time is how dependencies start, so be careful. I don't drink at all, but I've had other coping mechanisms sneak up on me when I've been going through shit before. It's very easy to lose track of things when your mind is preoccupied, even if you're otherwise well-disciplined.

I'd recommend putting the drinks away while you're alone at least, and make sure you're not sharing more about yourself than you're comfortable with here while you're drunk.
