I ended up getting into PoE2 because of meat Pippa, and it's actually really fun. A big thing I didn't like about PoE1 was that once you got a bunch of minions as a witch the game became boring, but with all of the dodging it's actually really nice, and the dodge mechanics feel way better than Diablo 4. Finished Act 1 and it was pretty good, the only thing that annoyed me was the final boss as sometimes I'd randomly be one shot by an ability when the same ability other times wouldn't hurt at all. Not sure if those abilities scale or I was only taking partial damage but it was annoying getting close to a kill only to explode. Could be my fault as I just dumped points into minions and didn't take much defensives so I might be squishy as shit.

Minion use feels really good but I have no idea how spirit really works. I do like and dislike that abilities are tied to minions as sometimes you're stuck with dead skills waiting for them to respawn and other times you can poison off entire areas with no threat. I really like how you have constant but limited minions due to spirit as I will switch around dudes depending on the battle if I get stuck.

I hope most maps continue to be open instead of enclosed like the tree cultist area above the hunting grounds, enclosed maps are really boring as minion summoner.

Surely they can't just have a gem that makes you explode and it doesn't do something. Besides, there's no gem out there that just makes you explode, it's logically impossible.

Actually, that one never killed me if you mean the circle he does around himself. It's the moonfire beams that would randomly go from tickling me to killing me, I know they become blood moon beams but it was the same with those, not sure if I was being hit by multiple beams somehow. The other one was when he lands on you, usually even if I did bad dodge and got hit it would only half or low health me but sometimes it would insta kill me. It's not even the insta death that annoys me, it's that I don't know which of those will be an insta death and which will be a salvageable moment.

If you like minions, don't go for blood mage when you get your secondary class. Actually, even if you don't like minions, don't pick blood mage.
