🎊Check out the new Kamioshi Shrine thread! Shill YOUR kamioshi here! Win prizes!🎊
April is just around the corner, and I'd like to use this time to remind users to donate in support of the site. I am looking into purchasing more add-ons to streamline and enhance user experience, and I am also going to hire another VPS for additional backup space and other important purposes in April.
In addition: I am looking for users who would be interested in becoming Orderlies for the new vtuber threads. Responsibilities would include highlighting and properly collating information in each thread, and also maintaining the announcement widgets for each thread. Knowledge of basic HTML and CSS (very easily learned) essential. DM me your interest.
Finally, I'm looking for anyone with intermediate to advanced HTML/CSS/PHP knowledge to continue work on the forum styles. I am willing to pay for this service, but if I do, I expect commitment and results within a reasonable timeframe. DM me any offers. Thank you.
Yeah I was thinking that but my depression has gotten a better hold of me as of late.
But I think Cover is trying to downsizing the EN branch not because it is not profitable but I think to control the bloat hat they acquire over the years so they gave some members who are low on streaming times to decide whether they leave or stay to adapt their strategy on the future.
I do not think this makes any sense. Why would any company actively shut down literal free money with no effort required. Also this nebulous "strategy" or "direction" has never been explained yet it is treated like some grand thing that is happening and is changing the content... how? They still stream, sing, play games, and do concerts and promos, Mio literally said the other day that they don't even have a streaming quota.
It's like we're all blind in a room but some people claim to see things that they cannot explain.
I'm not sure where do people keep getting the "Gura promise XX" from because she never did. I guess there was one time where she said she wanted to do more public zatsudan and people interpreted that as "more streams", but she probably just meant some member streams might become public streams.
Gura seems on a "X number of streams per Quarter" contract, so I'm expecting her in a couple of weeks to pop up. From a Brand point of view, I really doubt Gura actually ever graduates and it's down to maybe a 1 stream per year situation for like 3 years before the Alumni Status hits.
As for Mumei, the dance instructor that a bunch of the Holomems have been using (the one that likes to do Biboo's hair, no less) was actually a pretty well regarded Super Sentai member that decided to not go into more professional acting direction. It's a bit like that. We're seeing others go into directions that better suit them, regardless of the money situation. The thought was that Mumei was in Marine Biology, right? I have this weird feeling in like 15 years there's going to be some press conference for some ecological issue/disaster and the scientist up there will sound very familiar to a bunch of us.
That said, for the Holomems, a year of working hard at it should clear basically the rest of their life expenses. So, it's never really about the money with them and more about the rest of issues. You also never know what else is going on in their lives. Plenty of people have family situations that eat up a lot of time.
Literally cannot fathom why these ladies would ever leave Hololive unless they really want to do more with their lives or they are down right abused every day.
Hololive is FREE fucking money. Unless you're in DEVIS, Singing and Dancing isn't even expected out of you (assuming statements from talents saying you don't need to join Fes is true)

That's what I've been thinking about too leaving because your changing careers is one thing but to leave and than pop back up doing practically the same thing as before is weird to me.
The only solution I can see is what Shion said: The company may not expect anything more or do any pushing but the talents are in a competitive environment and some of them get exhausted by the feeling that they have to put in more than they signed up for and it fucks their mental over.

Let me tell ya, right now HoloEN's strategy is to go full idol mode that's why they're getting people who are okay with travelling to Japan with the exception of Gura. Fauna doesn't like leaving her cats for prolonged periods, Ame has her 3D side business venture and now Mooms that has her health and possible career in which she wants to focus on. Let's face it, these things are inevitable that's why Cover hired literal NO LIFERS in Advent and Justice.
honestly who didn't expect this one coming.
How many part-timers who took up studying university while working part-time continue with the same job after graduation.
Haachama. Ayame. Kanade. Kronii. Plus all the one's that didn't get a degree (no Matsuri being an electrician and Pekora being a kindergarten teacher doesn't count).
Being a Marine Biologist and being Mumei could coincide. Unless your point is that Hololive as a part time job isn't worth her time the same way working as a lab assistant isn't rewarding after you graduate.
We have had this discussion in the past. Even if the contract states that Fes is optional, it might as well be mandatory with almost 100% participation rate since the very beginning. Imagine how the fans will perceive you if you just randomly decide to skip on Fes, unless you have a severe health issue like Haachama (and she ended up participating as a guest anyway).
Edit:
Regardless, Fes being the only mandatory idol activity (plus EN concert for HoloEN) for each year does seems fair to me.

Intra-sexual competition never ends for Women. Put them in a contracted business where Attention is the key metric, and it'll grind most of them down. There's a good reason why the stable ones within HoloJP all seem to have previous pretty bad work experiences. They're numb to the pressure in many ways, even if the pressure is much lighter than in most of the rest of life.
