The "normal" turnover rate for the industry is literal corpo death and implosion or indie dramafest/google doc. People just judge Holo much harshly because 1. They like the corpo and/or 2. Industry leader should set a higher standard, which I agree with.I think the industry is still too young to know what a "normal" rate of turnover looks like, especially since a large chunk of its formative years took place in a period with near-captive audiences and talents potentially having a harder-than-usual time finding employment that wasn't based on sitting in front of your computer at home, of which vtubing at the top levels is basically the most lucrative option available. 2020-2023 might have been an idyll of stability that we'll never see again, irrespective of corporate virtue.
I do think Holo is "shedding weight" at the moment as 4 of out the 6 graduations have been less than active members who've been essentially checked out for years, hopefully they will begin hiring people who are more in line with whatever new mysterious ethos the company wants and the turnover will slow down again.
I wouldn't be surprised if the company ends up gaining a reputation for being hyper-competitive and only for masochists who desire the highest level of stardom as quickly as possible. The years of cruising along without much ambition might just be over if there's such a big (indirect or otherwise) push for performing in the background.
