"We're all that's left" is not the most optimist generation label.
[ - IBK - ] would be dope as hell.

That's just her natural voice.Did Kronii bring her xbox mic with her?
She is hunting for cutlery, is this a dig at Doki?I don't want to celebrate my unbirthday withDoraShiori...
I think I already said this in one of my past comments. But during HoloTalk, Gura said 2 things that stuck out to me:There's a difference between things like selling standard VTuber merch and putting a talent front-and-center as the face of your company when it's clear she's burnt out and brainwormed over her numbers. When she's on break #40 and openly saying how she's suffering from burnout and her success has her rattled, that might not be the time to come to her with the next major event or corporate brand deal you want her to be a part of if you don't want to completely drive her away.
As fun as the Dodger's thing was, you know that shit didn't help matters on Gura's end. It's been discussed to death, so I'm not going to dredge it up again, but Gura's departure was very much on Cover. Holo fans can cope all they want about what "disagreements with management and company direction" actually means, but it's pretty clear to anyone listening, especially with how emotional she was, this was a case of "I didn't leave the company, the company left me." When your biggest name can walk out any time she wants, one would think you wouldn't want to accelerate her chances of doing that, and would attempt to accommodate her. It goes beyond her lack of streaming, because she's not even the only Holomem to start streaming less. Ayame's streaming schedule became a meme, after all.
tl;dr if you have a major talent in your roster freaking out about their status, and you accelerate that status, you're gonna drive them away, and it's on you.
I have been seeing Advent fans trying to "push" Fuwamoco and Biboo to replace Gura as the "face" of EN since like a year back. I wonder how they feel when they choose Calli as the new face instead (referring to the official website). Some even seem to have emotionally threw Gura in the trash and replaced her with Fuwamoco.
I bought the Novelite plushie!I'm like 50 pages behind on this thread but Shiori's Birthday 3D outfit fits her very well. Merch is great too but between the increase in shipping and the tariff costs I'll have to pass this time around.

Is Fuwamoco's schedule correct and they're going to be doing a horror marathon in a couple of hours just after their Minecraft stream
So I've been having a fun little adventure lately thanks to some glitched out shit on twitter. Recently I posted this little dig at Cover Corp on the AO account...
Eventually I moved on from caring about it and muted it. But some intern over in Elon Town dotted the wrong I or some shit and now muting a tweet no longer stops notifications for quote tweets, so I've become inundated with shitloads of barely literate, 20-follower zoomer accounts giving their hottest of hot takes that I can't stop from flooding my mentions. This shit's made the AO account nigh-unusable. But that's just momentarily annoying. Here's what I find really interesting:
I knew Hololive had Nintendo-esque loyalists way too parasocial not just with the VTubers, but the company itself (YAGOO is best girl, and all that), so them being angry I dared to criticize Cover, that doesn't shock me. What I did find surprising is the amount of responses that seem to be shitting on Gura for not being willing to do what was "expected" of her by Hololive. Some even seem to have emotionally threw Gura in the trash and replaced her with Fuwamoco.
Is this a more prevalent sentiment than I expected? Is this just a thing now? Where it's not about your oshi anymore, but the company? All loyalty to the corporation, not the talents?! I expected the ESL "how dare you"s but this really caught me off guard.
I can't wait for her to come back and get like two hundred thousand live viewers suddenly realize her fame will follow her wherever she goes and then she fucks back off and does whatever the fuck she's already been doing besides streaming
GOZARU IS BACK![]()
I think she'll end up doing 1 stream and then we'll never see her again.
That's how jazz arrangements tend to be. I quite like it, but I can appreciate it not being for everyone. That song kinda sounded like a mess? Cool MV though.
Your position relies on the assumption that the appearances and sponsorships with Gura went like this:It goes beyond streaming. I brought up the Dodgers for a reason.
Also if you're going to say Cover didn't drive her away when management and company direction were the exact reasons she specified for leaving, I don't know what to tell you.
No, yes, no.
"We have this mega-popular talent who brings us lots of money, but she's also on an emotional knife-edge regarding her popularity. She's in a state where she could leave at any time over this, what do we do?"
"Put her on the jumbotron at Dodger's Stadium"
You have two options with a talent like Gura. Long-term and short-term. Long-term is to accommodate the fact she's openly uncomfortable with being the face of EN VTubing and scale back her presence as the face of your brand. Or you take the short-term and milk the shit out of her for every penny you can until she leaves. Cover chose the latter. You can argue if that's the right choice or not, but it is their choice.
