About being "forced" to work or not.

I know there have been talents who have implied or even straight-out said that even Fes participation is not mandatory. (I I don't have the source, this is all second hand information.) But I still have some doubts on that.

Sure, maybe on paper it is optional, but there is probably huge "pressure" for a talent to take part in it. Imagine if someone just opted out of Fes, unless you have a very good reason (like Haachama opted out of 5th Fes because she was sick, but still appeared as a guest in the end), I don't think the fanbase will react well.

Yeah, you can just not participate in FES but:

1. do you want to miss out the publicity it provides on the day where Holofans and non-Holofans would congregate to Japan like pilgrimage
2. miss your chance to hang out with your genmates and meet other Holomens and
3. possible merch deals

Since it is not mandatory, do you want to let your fanbase down by not appearing in HoloFES as the odd duck who don't want to sing and dance on that one big day of the year? Want to be seen as lazy bitch? What important matters do you have that you HAVE to skip it?

Yeah, I can see a lot of cons for not attending FES. It is akin to self-sabotage.

I will never be able to imagine Bae's voicing coming out of Sana's model she might not fit the backstory perfectly but I think she's a perfect match for the model

Dooby I haven't watched much of but she intentionally leaked her IMDB profile which includes her full name so I can only assume she has plans which wouldn't work with her in Holo.

Dooby was a special guest at Mint and Doki's Fantome Thief concert back in December. I don't think she doesn't want to sing and dance.
My rrats are mostly just that she wanted to Utilize her 3D Studio and Cover was unable to budge in letting her do way more 3D work at home. Not just stuff like a concert or a mini-3D Live within her home studio but popping a livestream and being primarily just goofing around in 3D.

I notice that at least for talents living in oversea, you don't have to travel to Japan to take part in HoloFes. I don't know how they do it (especially for group songs), but somehow they can. Last year Fauna didn't travel for 5th Fes and BD, and it seems like Shiori and Gura aren't currently in Japan either. The only act they won't be able to do is the MC section I believe.

It is odd, because she hasn't streamed at all (easier to fake being away), but she hardly has tweeted either.
