You'd think that by now people would realize that it's a bit convenient that most female vtubers happen to do the whole "I'm cute and dorky but also super shy irl uwu" thing.
It's pretty much always an act to some degree. It's fine to enjoy the act. Anyone who falls for it to the point of getting angry when the act is revealed (in their eyes, at least) should have known better, though.

Most do and i'm completly fine with making such an assumption on behalf of nearly every watcer (there is always an exception somewhere) But where it starts to fall apart is how much of it is an act it varies from vtuber to vtuber which is where simps slip through the rather large cracks.

Especially for the Terminally online who don't know the difference between Friend and online "friend" hell even not stupid people can find reality and an act hard to tell the difference when they do not have much reality to go off of.


How Stupid is Gura exactly if it's an act shes really damn good at being convincing. Just as one example that i think even the most waterlogged fans will have trouble giving a concrete answer.

She doesn't like people telling her they love her or how much they value/support her and then seeing the contradiction of them openly telling another girl the same thing. It's more about that than actual donations. It's come up several times in different ways, but the main one I'm thinking of was basically "don't say 愛してる lightly".

It's been a constant, ongoing thing with her lol
Every weekend she takes a break and the more schizo types start sperging. This time does seem a bit different though, it really ramped up when they found out she has a template sadgirl post she's used on her PL and then reused as Yuko a couple weeks ago. The fact that she used the sadpost about how much she missed the boo bros and then went to collab with males in Arma 3 poured salt on the wound. Then the idea that she's been getting blacked reopened the bleeding.
She just wasn't ready to start into GFE like she seems to have thought imo. GFE  can be done without schizo blowups, or in the case of Oceane/Zoey, the blowups come from the vtuber themselves lol - but not when you have a PL with this kind of shit. Very few chuubas have the mental fortitude (or in the case of Zoey or Katta, sheer menhera) to keep up the illusion. Somehow Miori does it and the worst she's had to deal with was sperging about the cuck sim that turned into a joke.
I'm in the same boat as far as liking Yuko and hoping this doesn't blow back on her too bad, but she could have avoided this shit if she had
1)picked a less schizo fanbase to appeal to
2)Not done the GFE, or if she was going to do GFE,
3)DFE related to her PLs less savory activities and locked the accounts

She was always going to have the NuggetFest thing hang over her head and there are some things like bilibili archives she couldn't do shit about, but it'd have taken like 10 minutes to lock down her old twitter and throne and other game accounts, and then the people sperging would've had a dead end trail to work with. She didn't though and now she's had week after week of Yukoschizo and the other tards combing through everything on her PL.

Somehow it all led back to BBC posting, which I guess is the mark of her being a true American

Also, some interesting roommate lore. Yuri said that she and Airi went to a haunted house together and Airi clung to her arm the whole time and got so scared that she got down on the floor and a rude employee came to hurry them along. It's weird to think of the PC talents doing stuff together irl, to me at least.

So poor Airi doesn't handle horror any better in real life.

If we ever find out the specifics and she's in a good enough mental space about it to spread it, I'll post it here.

My personal guess is it was related to a Resident Evil 4 sponsorship of some kind that got mismanaged. She's a huge fan of that series.

A sponsorship is something that VShojo is actually supposed to manage even if they are taken 100% at their word for "Talent Freedom", so that would make sense.

It's also heartbreaking she felt she had to apologize for her supposed lack of professionalism… Kitsune, you have nothing to apologize for when your health is on the line.

For all the Romanian hapa Tenma meme-ing, that part of her announcement is painfully Japanese.

Makes sense, you don't have 100k worth of equipment and not like what you do.

Spoiler: Schizo Unicorns and Where to Find Them

Speaking of Nazuna, some anon on /vt/ has summarized the recent drama that was happening with Nazuna. Fair warning it is long and autistic.

Quite a bit to dig in to, but if I'm cutting through all the schizo correctly, I suppose I can't blame Nazuna for siding with those who are actually funding her lifestyle even if a large contingent of her current audience are mad about it. It's just wild that their behaviour is bad enough that they're somehow losing the moral highground to unicorns of all people.

The worst unicorns are the ones who feel entitled to the streamer's decisions and spend all their time shitting on the streamer or their communities when the streamer doesn't do what they want (e.g. the unicorns seething about Nazuna's group collab which included Taishi and someone's +1). And here we're seeing anti-unicorns... shit on the streamer and their community when the streamer doesn't do what they want. Horseshoe theory is not just for politics.

I mean, obviously lots of people care. But I wish they wouldn't and could just go through life accepting that their favorite streamer is human too and humans like to have sex with each other. That there are so many people who have their entire lives tied up in digging through what would otherwise be mundane minutiae of one person's life in order to judge whether they will allow themselves to be entertained by them is kind of discouraging.

Maybe whoever the people are who are first digging up this info and posting it to the board is having some sort of trollish fun, though.

Oh typically yes, but these aren't normal people is all. Like I'm sure some coomers or parasocials can function normally, but I absolutely doubt they're anything but a minority. Reasonable people wouldn't care. That's just the sad issue with these things. I certainly wouldn't find this to be a reason to try shitting up someone's life nor agree with attempts to do so. Mentally ill people just don't tend to have normal thoughts or processes and have a habit of taking things too far.

Arguably there's something to be said with Riifu doing it how she did. It was kind of 0-100 but she's pretty up front about what it is as far as I know. She plays her role, the audience plays their, and then everyone goes home when they're done, hopefully to clean up lol.
Someone a bit more familiar with her would have to correct me if that's wrong. I swear someone here said she was pretty up front about not taking her rules and attitudes to other peoples streams.

Riifu's approach is an interesting point. If I hire an escort or patronise a hostess club (purely hypothetically, of course) I don't then go and spend hours digging up what they do off the clock. Knowing any of that would just make me feel (more) pathetic. So there's no point.

So why do unicorns do this? Why is the unspoken contract of "I play my role, you play yours" absent in Yuko's case (and many other unicorn meltdowns)? Does this happen when the Vtuber themselves doesn't understand that unspoken contract and gets too into their role? Or are Vtubers just reaching too many schizos over the net? Or something else?

Don't forget, this is revenue, not superchats. How much do you think super popular talents make on merch ? How much do you think Gura brings ? If she makes 750k in superchats in a year, she can easily make 5 mil selling merch.
They sell cheap shit at a huge markup, they can make 500% profit on most items. If you talk to any youtuber, you'll know their biggest cash flow is from merch, and they only sell t-shirts.

Gura most likely gets a lot of merch sales but she is not hitting $750k superchat a year. Her total SC is around $1.1M
