Why is """doxxing""" banned in /vt/ anyways? I thought that hacker4chan is a place where the evil russian trolls defame others and harass young children?

My personal hypothesis is vermintide. I feel like 4chan has turned into a three letter agency honeypot, with enough vermintide involved that they want to obscure their shady ilk, but that might just be my imagination.

Blue board, it's also why it's on "4Channel" and not 4Chan as they split them to allow for advertisers to actually buy banner space instead of being limited to porn and malware like on orange boards. Generally though doxxing is prohibited in most places, which is funny because doxxing used to be standard company policy for most big corpos but lately it's been turned into the worst thing on Earth.

It's definitely gone to shit, any non blue board is unusable such as /b and while the blue boards can be ok, for the most part they're filled with degenerates anyway.

Doxxing still happens in /vt/, it gets janny'd but it does occur.

The jannies are so heavy handed on /vt/ that even IRL pics posted by the chuubas themselves or screencaps from streams that feature more than just hands get deleted and banned, but its usually for any chuuba that isn't in the big two corpos.

Main reason is the fact that the mods are idolfags, so they don't want to break the illusion - they want to focus on the vtuber's content.
Personally, I don't mind it since the threads are still fun, it's easier to discuss smaller talents with a decent amount of people, and the anonymity is comfortable, but I do need to supplement posting on /vt/ with places like here since you miss out on a lot without certain context.

While valid, I was more talking about companies and governments pushing for use of real ID on Internet platforms, which would in effect force dox everyone using those platforms.

Doxing is a touchy subject and the views often differ from person to person. With that in mind, I think a good compromise with information that is seen as more personal should be spoiler in the private tag so it isn't picked up by search engine and can be viewed by those that like to see with accounts registered. It's a fair compromise and we shouldn't let the action of one individual going pipkin on the ancestral site restrict us and punish those here.

I still don't think roommate posting or documenting things that can be found without nefarious means is inherently bad, and lore posts like the one done by @DrStupid on Ancestral Site are very respectful to the person in keeping neutral in tone and being an informative post showing the history of a person through good and yab arcs.

The Dr.Stupid post can also be something used as a good starter template for future Vtuber lore posts. Something that gives me idea to pitch in the future.

Also, the RL pic of Shiina is from her old roommate's twitter account when she was posting about working out and her height after she was teased by viewers during one stream. (I'll find the post in question on the ancestral site if it doesn't keep dying on me right now.)

I guess I'm trying to say, is let's not let a post someone made on ancestral site rush into cracking down on things here and creating a stigma on something that makes us unique from other forums and places on the web due to one person going deeply Pipkin. We have the capabilities of going with it in a respectful manner, especially with how this community is one of few that gives a more open discourse on said subject.
