So that happened huh.
Really REALLY don't like the design esp compared to her old one. It's a travesty that they just have to discard old models.
Redebuts rub me the wrong way in general. The whole graduation circus with tears and heartfelt goodbyes only to reappear somewhere else. Chapi's especially, a 12hr birthday extravaganza only to show up later and be like SIKE here's another bday stream on December, it's all so profit oriented and soul-less.
I wish her the best but I don't feel like watching any stream. Maybe a karaoke at most, you guys will enjoy them for sure.

I'm curious. Why do some people here hate Twitch when it comes to watching vtubers? Is it just because they hate Twitch as a company, or because of their UI, or something else?

I ask because I'm kind of a convert to Twitch. It is an objectively awful platform when it comes to business practices, moderation, etc. But I like it for how it lets you feel an active part of the stream instead of a passive observer. I find watching vtubers on Youtube to be a lot duller than on Twitch. I'm not saying Twitch is better; they're equally bad in different ways, just that I'm surprised how quickly Twitch features have become an almost indispensable part of my watching experience that I feel deprived of on Youtube.
I don't really hate it so much that I just rarely have the time to open it beyond your stuffed waifu or my desire to see cute JP 2/3view indie vtubers playing Escape From Tarkov. The ads are still annoying, and the UI isn't really endearing either. That said, I prefer to have youtube because I tend to set the stream as background noises so I can just, play it on my phone while I focus on things.

Yes, Twitch does have mobile app, but it's rather ass to use and considering that I already have less time to open twitch even on PC, having it on phone is just gonna be a weight to me. Also I do agree though, chatting on twitch, especially when looking at 2view or 3view is quite fun than YT because of the interactions. Makes me remember when one of the "cute JP vtuber doing tarkov things" I watched lets the chat having their fun by setting up those thingie where each of the chat is represented with sprites of gundam mechas and have it duke it out ala battle royale till one lucky chat member is the victor. T'was fun.

EDIT: speaking about proctor's stuffed waifu, I just realized that someone gave me a month sub to her. 18 days after the fact. Dang.

For what it's worth, here's the actual streamer's tweet about the shit.

"I just said fuck it and went to touch grass for a little bit. Whatever." And fun fact the staff apparently wasn't just some rando janny it was Twitch's Creative Director.

sounds like he's kowtowing to avoid a twitch ban.

At least she got an appointment with a specialist faster than I did, last time I had to wait 6 months...

First rule of vtuber club - don't give a flying fuck about graduations and ignore them until it's been a 6 month and a person still hasn't resurfaced anywhere. Then you can retroactively grief, because unless they got into Holo chances high they really did stop career for good.

I sort of agree. Staff came in and the streamer could not force him out of his territory, as it isn't the streamer's territory it is Twitch's ultimately. So the streamer was temporarily forced out of the space to avoid confrontation that would undoubtedly end negatively for the streamer.

he tried to ban the fag from his chat and the asshole had the nerve to go "OMG you tried to ban me". In any decently run company that retard who went to someone's chat to go :Fauna-AKSHUALLY: would be fired with prejudice but this doesn't surprise me in the slightlest when there's plenty of staff that probably get nudes from thots for special treatment.

Amazon bean counters are doing a cost analysis for streamers to switch to youtube or kick/rumble/odysee (Lol). OTK said they'll leave but will they?

They know the biggest fags in the platform can't realistically leave because while they're big their fans aren't loyal enough to leave a platform where the other 12 fuckers they watch still are. Ninja is the perfect example of this when he moved to that MS streaming platform, his numbers were dogshit and came back to twitch and got his numbers back. The mid sized streamers are those who I think have more pull since they're the bulk that fills the gaps and their fanbases are much more loyal to follow them to whatever they go.
Kirshe mentioned how she has to play in the playground of the giants to get the scraps but I think streamers her size could really make a dent on twitch if they were to move in droves and youtube must think the same since they're trying to lower the requirements for partner. The suits just tunnelvision into let's bring these big name cunts into our shit, that will attract people but in reality a platform lives and dies by their variety. Exclusivity is cancer if you want to grow your numbers, just give them a contract with a decent cut and ask for a reasonable amount of streaming hours, organic growth is always the way to go and it amazes me how dumb the people trying to make youtube alternatives are.

  1. Moderation is dogshit and often arbitrary based on whatever simp mod is there. Youtube is incompetent and relies on bots but Twitch is worse.
Ads are cancer. I don't mind 15-second or longer ads that you can skip after 5 seconds but this shit is absurd. 8 ads 30 seconds each and you can't skip.
  2. Twitch culture. Maybe it's because I'm a boomer but I can't stand the Twitch Speech and other crap.
  3. Tags can be exploited and staff doesn't do shit about it.
  4. Baby's first softcore porn site.
The whole chat thing is good though. You can have redeems and shit. Additionally seems like Youtube chat has a bit of a delay when compared to Twitch.

She has a whole bunch of actual album covers posted around her room.
I have no idea how JewCorp is getting away with that but I have a feeling they will.
I don't think they can do much about that. Doubt anyone will claim that she is using the art to profit from it.

I don't understand this "no discoverability on Twitch" thing people are echoing, because from both sides of it it seems to be the opposite for me. Let's say you want to see a stream on game X. On Twitch, you click Browse, you click the game's label, and there you go - streams only about game X. On YouTube, you have to search for that game, which will get you videos as well as streams unless you filter by "Live" only, and it still has the impreciseness of search where it might show you results for things it thinks are related to game X instead of just game X. And from the perspective of a 0/1view, I'm seeing far more people wander into my streams than ever did on YouTube. And I'm not alone on this. Everything I've seen from other established streamers up until this "no discoverability on Twitch" meme started circulating in the last couple weeks has advised the opposite - grow an audience on Twitch, then try to get them transplanted to more profitable and less obnoxious platforms when possible.
I dont know. While I do think there is some truth to it, I feel like its way more overblown than what they made it out to be. Maybe if you are playing a dead game you have a higher chance to get discovered but for the most part if you are playing what everyone else is, I doubt you will see much unless you get really lucky. Passive discoverability based off on chance and luck. In youtube you can funnel people from your videos to eventually watch your streams which is more active.

Another damn good singer.

I dislike the fact that it feels like the Jewcorp is rapidly becoming an industry leader.
Jewcorp knows that if they funnel money into marketing, people will watch/donate. Most Vtubers have a marketing problem. They dont grow because people can't see them.

So that happened huh.

Technically the character died so I get the whole farewell thing. It is also sad because technically you wont get to see the character again.

So i was watching Nousagi and this popped up. Doubt Nousagi talks much about indies so im going to assume this is some corpo's alt.

Moona stated she got higher marks in English courses than Indonesian.
Ancient quote i forgot, but iirc Mika had a similar experience, probably because the english grading is more lenient

Mid stream ads. They kill the mood and sometimes even the entire context of the current discussion. It's just super annoying. I know streamers can play them manually, but almost none of them actually take a break when doing so. I tend to get big fomo with this, so i stopped using twitch unless i really, really, really have to (like the dokomi concert from kiara and irys, and yes, that got interrupted by ads. Multiple times. Did the concert wait? Obviosly not.)

My question is simple. When you are not live, how is someone supposed to know you exist? This is not a problem for youtube. If you get lucky you end up on some vod section to watch?
I believe that is what most are referencing when they say you do not have no discoverability on twitch as you are only discoverable when live, youtube you have easy to access vods, the options for shorts and videos and a presence beyond a landing page when you are not live.
For the record, I dislike both platforms, it's just a matter of rather you prefer being fucked over by someone who calls themself a they/them animalkin or a rogue ai that runs most of youtube.

The thing I hate most about YouTube is the children in chat. I know this isn't a problem in huge chats when you can't even read them, but when watching or modding for a 2view, there's always a fucking slew of (Firstname) (Lastname) username literal 8-14 year old users blogposting in the chat and generally demanding the streamer's attention.
Those are not children. They are usually the whales sending five $500 akasupas on 5 different accounts with a paragraph in each one.

Watched a debut and a half, and debut streams are always dogshit, but I don't think any of these girls will break me out of only watching Bin Benrose out of their entire catalog. And a bit of Katta on the side I guess.

Really good singers though, so might just listen to their music instead.

Theres basically no way to discover people that aren't currently streaming on Twitch. The only way to find offline channels are to either know who they are and search for them or click their name in another streamers chat and go to their channel. Streamers can do vod reruns when they are offline, but those rarely get past double digit views on big channels.

You think Wrixne Lenti is his real name? I mean, I’m not saying it’s not, I just doubt it because that’d be a weird name. (Unless his name is actually Rick)

Edit: And the Bettel thumbnail…is it supposed to look like the horse is mounting the game logo? Because it does look like it.
