I didn't think I'd see Good Eats referenced here. Such a good show.
I learned to make casserole type mac n cheese from good eats. Good stuff.

Honestly, I thought Tsunderia would go under. Didn't their Gen 1 and 2 mostly graduate by the time 3 came out?

You can see a rundown on this page on the Virtual YouTuber wiki. Of the 13 members in generations 0, 1, and 2, two members are still active.

However, the mass graduation that many people think of happened in late April/early May, 2022. Gen 3 debuted in November 2021, well before this.

So while having so many missing members as well as a mass graduation/walkout is not a good look, it's notable that Gen 3 has been going for over a year now with none of their members graduating. I take that as a sign that whatever problems Tsunderia had behind-the-scenes have been gradually ironed out, but I won't fault anyone for thinking otherwise just yet.

Speaking of fucked up food choices...anyone up for a raw beef and raw egg platter?

Believe it or not, but that stuff is delicious. Highly recommend if you ever find a fancy enough restaurant that serves it in Tokyo.
Would never make it by myself.

So, how does raw meat feel in the mouth (god, I hate to say it, but "mouth feel")?

Wonderful (I don't hate saying that). I'd also suggest Korean Yukhoe, which despite its unfortunate name, is in fact terrific. Nothing makes you like a carnivore more than chowing down on raw meat.
Both are pretty chewy and I wouldn't eat too much in one bite.

Very much like sushi (well sashimi as there's rice, but you get the idea). It's usually cut up enough so that it's not chewie.

Sounds great. I'm not a fussy eater and I'll try anything.
I was going to make a joke about taking out raw meat from my freezer, but my last joke made me very sad in the Dead Pool thread. Thanks @TheRratC !

Are the chunks larger or is there just more fat in Japan? I always found it rather easy to eat in Europe because it was cut into tiny cubes and lower in fat so the chewy nature wasn't really there.

Yeaaah, my response was probably a little too pragmatic and not so shit-posty in hindsight. My bad, man.

Except the Calli part, anyway.

I have heard that Canada (a.k.a. 'America's Hat') can produce its own share of food-related atrocities.

However, I'll let you know if America ever creates a culinary abomination that is worse than casu martzu*.

*I hereby state that it is not my fault if you search for this term and discover what it means. If you already know, I am so very sorry.
I don't know, America invented high fructose corn syrup. Casu martzu is gross but does not remotely compare.

Probably Azura.

She recently tweeted she had a severe family emergency and was stressing over not having the money to move out. I believe they moved out of Indonesia to Australia last year so it's a pretty rough and expensive situation to have dropped on you out of the blue. I don't know what Hana's tweet was though.

Japan invented MSG. and the frogs came up with vegetable shortening. What I'm saying is the whole planet pooled in when it came to sow the seeds of horribly carcinogenous and devastating industrial-scale foodstuff.

HFCS is fucked up for entirely different reasons. I just prefer my food to have the absolute minimum of actual fucking living larvae in it.

Funny thing about that raw meat & egg tower: I do greatly enjoy the occasional rare ribeye, but the idea of the mouth feel of that raw flesh blob just kills it for me, much like my similar distaste for sashimi. It just feels...alien and wrong (to me, anyways). My mind yells at me on an instinctual level that it should be properly cooked, dammit (I am aware that sushi is technically cooked, but still...)!

Eh, what do I know. I used to drink Moxie soda in college. I have no right to speak of culinary 'taste'...

Edit: I just remembered the scene from 'Oldboy'. You know...that scene.

How's that for some sashimi mouth feel?

All this discussion about eating raw ground beef and raw egg makes me think Pippas feet stream wasn't so horrifying in comparison

My bad, I shoulda clarified that I find it more chewy compared to cooked beef. Though size difference and fat amount seems to differ depending on where you eat it, up to the chef's choice I suppose.
Yukhoe on the other hand is really just steak tartare but you usually eat it with fried glass noodles, raw egg, pine nuts and then dunk it in mayo. If you don't like mayo, like me, you can do a Yukhoe Bibimbap and slap it on some rice, season with ganjang, and add some sliced pears to it.

It's like a bukkake of random tasty stuff that somehow works together.
