From what I've seen racism against Indians is pretty socially acceptable (at least compared to other groups), so I'm guessing it's the trans stuff. "...she [rumored to be referring to Yena Youngblood's PL as far as I know] has like trans rights in her Twitter bio which I feel like should be a red flag for any VTuber company if you're talking about that stuff publicly..." might seem tame to us (because it's a true statement), but to the extremely mentally ill people in the Nijisphere anything short of total devotion to the alphabet soup people is an unforgivable sin.

Is it just India 2020 Superpower Saar chauvinism that makes them not even consider looking at Japanese culture?

The thing is Yena has actually played it pretty cool in character. Zero Pride month posts in her Twitter, for example, and Poma Pon is the Brave Group hyena vtuber who's ended up running with the dick jokes. She definitely has had "transbians" flock to her audience, but she doesn't particularly cater to them. She's even pushed back on stream about being made into some kind of butch lesbian icon because she's bi IRL.

Rules and information
Information was gathered from a FuwaMoco clip, Botan's news stream for the day and the hololive Fan Discord Server.

• The event lasts from June 9th to June 13th.
• Each day lasts from 19:00 to 24:00 JST, except for June 11th which lasts from 21:00 to 1:00. (Lui's birthday concert takes place on that day.)
• The event is open to the hololive girls from all branches.
• The winner is the one with the most money by the end of the event.
• Money can be earned in many different ways:
  • The primary way is through one of four jobs. Jobs can only be changed once a day.The role colors are as follows:
    • 冒険家 (Adventurer): Earns money by exploring and defeating mobs.
    • 採掘者 (Miner): Earns money by mining blocks.
    • 酪農家 (Dairy Farmer): Earns money by animal husbandry and farming.
    • 職人 (Craftsman/Researcher): Earns money by crafting, enchanting, repairing, etc.
    • 無職 (Unemployed): Earns no money from having a job.
    • ラメーン屋 (Ramen Shop): It's just for Botan as the organizer. She's also the only one where chat may relay information from others' streams to.
  • Other ways to make money:
    • Colosseum (Arena): Defeat some buffed monsters alone or in a party. There will also be original opponents to fight on the last two days.
    • Lamb Vegas (Gambling): Win Watamedals (tokens) and exchange them for money (and vice-versa) or prizes. WataMedals are worth 1000 yen each. A large WataMedal is the equivalent of 100 WataMedals.
    • Treasure Hunt: Treasures are scattered around the world, including in The Nether and The End. The farther the place, the more valuable the treasure will be.
    • Stock Market (More Gambling): The three available companies to invest are Shishiro Foods, Dorobou Construction (DoroKen), and Nna Railway. The value will be altered hourly per company by a roulette wheel.
    • Daily quests: Doing some of the in-game achievements will be rewarded with money. There's a separate tab in the achievement menus to which a eligible for the day.
    • Minigames and events: Examples include an parkour courses, snakes and ladders, fishing tournament, etc.
  • Note that dying will result that the money on hand will be halved.
• No intentional PvP is allowed (unless it's funny).
• Items can be stolen as long as it doesn't ruin the fun. There are personal lockers to keep items safe.
• Server management is done by DOZLE staff.
• This day's daily event are two minigames.
  • The mingames are initiated by interacting with the villager at the hub fountain.
  • The minigames can be done with 2 to 5 players.
  • Only one minigame can be initiated once at a time. There's a chest for reservations.
  • Indian Blocks
    • Each player is on a tower of various heights. The player that has the least amount of blocks left by the end wins. Players can see the remaining heights of each other's towers except for their own.
    • Estimated session time is between 3 and 10 minutes.
  • Stop Block
    • The floor is filled with blocks of various colors with the goal of racing to the other side. At the hotbar, there will be a message slowly typing out that certain colors will disappear. If a certain color is set to not disappear, the other colors will. The color text are mismatched.
    • If you fall, you will be sent back to the start.
    • Estimated session time is between 10 and 20 minutes.

Patch notes

• Rare monsters like Fubura are easier to defeat and the rewards for defeating them are increased from 2000 yento 5000
• Arena changes:
  • Removed the entry fee.
  • Increased the completion rewards, but it can only be obtained once per day.
  • Fixed issue where blocks can't be placed after finishing the Arena.

Is it just India 2020 Superpower Saar chauvinism that makes them not even consider looking at Japanese culture?

It's not so much chauvinism, but more a combination of censorship laws and India having a pretty sizable local entertainment industry early on which limited penetration of anime until very recently. Consequently there isn't much of a market for anime-adjacent things in India, relative to its size.

Where Euros, LatAms and other Asians were already watching anime broadcasted by local networks in the 1970s and 80s, Indians didn't really have the same experience. India generally was pretty closed off economically until the 1990s (you can look up the License Raj) and they're really only getting their fill of anime now with streaming services.

In a way, it's similar factors at play with why US interest in anime is relatively recent compared to other countries. The US already had a sizable animation industry of its own and the TV networks had no real incentive to show anime, so it stayed niche until the latter half of the 1990s - early 2000s. TV stations in other countries gravitated toward Japanese animation early on principally because the rights were cheap compared to American animation (this is how Berlusconi's TV network made France the most weeb country in Europe), or political reasons made it unacceptable to show American cartoons (this is why MENA has a surprising number of weebs).

As for why young Indians aren't taking to anime and VTubing in droves, I suspect it's mostly just the network effect in action - they didn't grow up with dads and uncles who watched Gundam or peers who talked about Naruto and DBZ, plus Bollywood always cranks out new stuff, so they don't have much reason to venture out into an alien form of entertainment.
