Phase Connect is large enough socially (compared to other convention attendees) hat not being included would be extremely questionable, they contributes too much financially for them to be removed, and all the people that run stores at the event would be really annoyed if the company that pays for artist alley was told they couldn't attend. Right now, Offkai needs Phase Connect. But I agree with you in hoping that this changes in the future so Phase Connect does con stuff without Offkai, or Offkai gets better at choosing who helps staff their event so there aren't any issues.

They're not continuing people's contracts. Doesn't seem like they're firing people, but they are reducing staff. Full Rrat mode, but they might be trying to package the company up in a way that someone can buy it for a very small amount of money so the VCs can write off the loss without gutting the place.
