I feel like it really does depend on what someone prefers, the autism of ARR and HW, where the classes need a fucking PHD to decipher how to play them properly, but half the higher end fights being basically "don't get hit by the marked AOE, it do come out kinda fast tho", or current day's autism of pretty simple class gameplay, but the actual encounters get to be interesting and fast. I definitely prefer the latter personally, but I can see why not everyone would.
Endwalker, I really can't make any excuses for the gameplay of, that shit was so comically baby mode on both fronts.
