You can see CHROMASHIFTO BASSU still have 10 English speaking talents in there. And most of the crazy ones quitted. It became a lot more normie.
Joining a bad corpo still means you get to forge connections you couldn't have otherwise. It's not 100% bad.
If idol debut a 5-member gen, the person joining basically now have access to 14 people they can hang out with. And if they are any lucky they will find some best friends for life. It is also really easy to become close friends with people from the same generation.
(Can't say the same about the ES branch though good luck with that)
The tsunderia girls likely still talk to each other to this day.
Miori is still bestie with Bae despite Miori's attempts at sabotaging all her relationships
Mogughost is still hanging around with Aia. And so on and so forth
Alot of these people desperate for joining a vtuber corpo usually are 2-3 views without real friends. They ended up depending on vultures known as "chat mods" as an independent vtubers. Some have no idea where to even start, having colleagues to help and drive you forward doesn't hurt, even if the corpo itself is dogshit. It's not all negative applying for brave/idol/variance/socks/whateversmollcorpo

Honestly, from a branding perspective it kind of makes sense, since they need some way to regain traction after the recent graduations, and the way Idol did their recent generations felt a bit nonsensical (ENCore as the music-oriented gen, the "proper" EN gens, and then ES + HE - the majority of whom streamed in English anyway).
As much as I don't really like Brave Group as a whole, whoever is running Brave US seems to have some idea of what they're doing. Ditch the dubstep though, make use of the actually good singers you guys have, damn it.
Still, funny, because this move is kind of an admission that Idol as a brand wasn't worth much, if anything at all.
