She had an abscess that was too risky to drain as far as I know

That's like draining it and potentially kill the person or wait for an antibiotic to work (most likely it won't because it can't reach the center of the abscess since is dead tissue) and the risk of sepsis is really high...

and Shondo of all people really doesn't need people speculating about the cause of death.

Im sorry for also speculating but, her 2nd account says "i cant believe she'd do this" which sorta implies it wasnt natural causes, unless she somehow caused the abscess

...so this was most likely(not sure why im leaving room for doubt here, Shondo's wording is pretty unambigous, but eh) not natural causes.

I'd agree that the wording is unnecessary in the announcement and we can leave it as just "Shondo's mother dead", but Shondo's own words strongly imply that her mother did something to prompt this outcome. So yeah it could be a radical and risky medical action that didn't work out, but even in that scenario she obviously didn't consult the rest of the family.
