Acquisition or partnership? The X seems to imply the latter, but even if that's the case I'm sure it'll turn into the former eventually.
Aren't they like the #4 vtuber corp in Japan behind Brave? It might be another case of "partnership into ownership" like Idol Corp.
Shibuyahal is the owner right? If so then it's clearly another Idol case, arguably even worse. He has been complaining in the past year how running all this tournaments is a money sink with no return, that neither viewers nor participants appreciate how much time and effort goes into it etc. It just seemed like he was tired of all of it and wanted to wash his hands away. Selling his company to Brave is probably a good deal for him personaly but I don't see how any of the people in it would benefit from it.
At least Aviel probably tried to negotiate a deal as good as possible (and scammed the fuck out of Brave as what we have seen), Hal is more likely to agree to the first draft of whatever was their offer and walk away

In all seriousness, the last time I looked them up, Neo-Porte's ability to grow new talent was basically nonexistant. New generations flounder, and the old guard coasts by on fans they've had for 5+ years. As far as I can tell, they're a retirement home.
Shibuya Hal going for an easy payout after years without genuine payoff and serious growth makes sense.

Remember when Brave bought out Idol Corp and the talents were offered new contracts, they also had the option of signing the new contract, coming to a payment arrangement without a Brave talent contract, or quitting entirely. That seems like a good variety of options for the talents, and perhaps some of the new talents might prefer the new options than continue working as before.
This is assuming it is a default for how Brave handles things. So far none of the other companies they bought had people leaving it. Which might mean they were fine with it, or their owner didn't negotiate this with Brave and took the offer as is, while Aviel didn't
like 70% of Neo-Porte is shibuya hal and reid anyway. As long as they can keep them it doesn't really matter.
and from the looks of things Shibuya is staying.
also neo-porte is super tight-knitted and they are also very closely related to vspo. I cant see people leaving or a lot of them.
