This myopic obsession with better tech will never end, Cover will never have the best tech and that's just how things are.It was the same shit with Niji back in the day and now it's indies. Holo has never been good at AR or any technological matter in general, honestly they quite suck at it and all of their apps and games are SHIT, what Holo is good at is marketing, branding and not outright exploding their business.

I don't remember which Holo recently said how they've lost a chunk of freedom to push for their projects because they have to deal with so much bureaucracy, and while creativity is better nailed under limitations, punching down anyone that stands out will level and alienate everyone involved.
Problem of good home 3d setups in not lack nor price of technology, it's literally just lack of pipeline and standardization. Everyone have to assemble their own puzzle, often with yet another custom middleware code.
Though some stuff also plain do not exist in consumer market, i.e. i can't remember any reasonably priced dimensional beacons to easily place your motion data into the scene. And yeah, no plug&play pipeline for them too.

The tech IS getting ahead, the recent regloss live saw massive improvements in tracking, they built a massive studio, they're having more events and lives than ever, they opened an office in the US and the whole holoearth nonsense. That's where the money is going to, if you read the financial statements loads of money gets diverted into utilities and paying employees. The shareholders are pissed because the company ISN'T pocketing enough money.
All of this "things are getting worse" are VIBES not DATA. /vt/ has been trying to push this idea of "the great stagnation" for months now.
