Regardless of how people feel about this right now, this will be standard practice in 10-15 years, if not sooner. Artists using shortcuts to help with more monotonous and/or difficult parts of drawing has been a thing for as long as digital art has been around, with plenty of people including industry professionals making use of filters, texture packs, stock backgrounds etc. in their work. Generative AI is another such tool, and while I can understand the legal concern in this particular instance since that hasn't exactly been figured out yet and it would be genuinely unfair for vtubers and/or agencies to get into trouble over such a trivial infraction, there's really no moral argument to be made.
If we take this piece as an example:
There's no denying the body and blazer have obviously been lifted from the AI base - but when comparing the complete pieces, there's enough difference between them that it feels like the artist had a vision of what he wanted to create and used the AI generation as a middle step in his workflow to help him achieve that, rather than just cynically pushing out slop. It's not plagiarism in the same way tracing a human artist's illustration would be since this base doesn't explicitly belong to anyone, and reworking it into the Bae picture with a new pattern on the skirt, new colour grading, added subtle grain etc. is all creative input on his part.
I'd be genuinely interested to see how the first eventual lawsuit over something like this plays out, because someone would have to notice part of their own work that's somehow remained recognisable after both the AI mashing together the millions of source material from the boorus and being painted over by the new artist, and be able to prove demonstrable damages that have arisen from this happening. Anything that isn't a very obvious "[AI work] has directly lifted [Plaintiff's Illustration]" is going to feel like opportunists being opportunists just trying their luck, like the recent lawsuit from Marvin Gaye's estate against Ed Sheeran, since Thinking Out Loud apparently sounds like Let's Get It On.

Have I just become boomer brained when it comes to identifying AI images or do you really need to have a knack for seeing AI in anime pictures? The finger thing was the only one I could see because AI always sucks when it comes to creating hands and fingers.

AI-slop is easy enough given how plentiful and derivative it is. It's when the proomptbros somehow manage to generate a stylized version of someone's art that's the tricky part. Most of the time though it's the same horeshit "asian-looking dollface with huge boobs".

She been using Jygfams' art for years. She also follows and retweets his art consistently, which is very rare for her to do for any art.

Well Ina, round and round we go, running away from stress and not adapting. Or, we could try and become someone new and maybe just learn something about ourselves.
I've been mostly ignoring the date for the past month and now I realize there's only 5 days until Fauna's graduation, fuck.
I heard it and it was really hard to listen to it because she really sounded demoralized. Too much shit happened this year, that part really got to me. Phase has become the only survivor of all the initial waves of vtubing boom small corpos in the West, and it must be sad to see all your competing small corpos collapsing within just a few months. I hope she can find the drive to continue because I want to see her succeed and be happy. She did good this year, shouldn't let herself down.
tl;dr
She seems to not like the image she made for herself (I assume she means degenerate tumblr zoomer with questionable world knowledge?) but is trapped between either continuing it and further getting punished by youtube strikes, or not doing it and her numbers crashing and fans growing disinterested.
She has had many projects frozen or cancelled due to a mix of management being too slow to communicate or her worrying it won't be good enough and just freezing it
She was also demoralized by the rapid succession of small corpo closures this year, which she felt helped Phase in its first years stay lean and efficient due to actual competition. Now they're all gone, and Phase is doing good but now they're peerless in the industry and have nobody to really keep them on their toes. She is also just sad to see all these corpos and people she grew to see part of the vtubing ecosystem just die so rapidly.
