Stars having wierd mis-management even for Holo standards and them not being as victimized or isolated as some fanboys want to believe can be both true at the same time

Because the loud unicorn that likes to seethe publicly over them are only a few compared to holofans that just don't care about them existing. Finding like, 1-2 posts from antis that always post the most deranged shit about stars during holoexpo has been normal at this point because of how xitter does their fyp tab (lol).
Personally, I don't care about it as much anymore, especially as someone who watched StarsJP back when Kira was still around. It's mostly the newer fans or the StarsEN-focused who seem to easily take all the baitposts and make those woe is me-tier posts because a fraction of people refuse to look at Holostars.

Now the management side is a bit more interesting to investigate because they go from not caring -> somewhat supportive -> being super restrictive again and repeat, because of this I cannot say whether they've massively improved since the early year. Maybe at some point because nowadays some of the boys do get more leeway on various stuff JP and EN sides alike while some are still not as fortunate for whatever reason, but COVER definitely hasn't invested deep enough and doesn't want to put too much risk on the branch yet which is why outlier project is harder to come by unless they're confident the talents managed to pull it off good.

I do hope COVER would believe in them and the maletuber market more in the future, because the current EN situation is just very unfortunate for their mental and I wouldn't be surprised if the chain of events could result in another graduation which frankly, would stoke another fire for the "stars are a failure lul" opinion again.

I actually work out of the country. I'm in Laos and Cambodia like 3 weeks a month these days. Totally not in close contacts with guns and totally not a fed.
So more like barren fields full of shits, but close enough.

For male vtuber. Unironically what holo does dont work. For 2d anime vtuber, the tried and true method is gaybaiting and acting as Shota/BFE. They are unique perks that one can make use of.
Holo not dipping into this market doomed the branch. If you are doing nothing different than a normal male twitch streamer, you will be competing with every normal twitch streamers
And the average brotuber watchers prefers a streamer with a face than girly looking anime boys.

I don't understand the weird obsession viewers have with everyone collabing with everyone in the VTuber scene, anyway. I have always preferred solo streamers over people who are constantly doing group streams.

I'm interested in good content, and when good creators click you get gold. Vesper x Kronii collabs had such an energy that the only way to hate it is to be a miserable unicorn that can't fathom sharing joy with their peers.
Should they do it everyday? Hell no, but vtubing would gain a lot from some gameshows and other TV-format collaborations like Niji used to do, that just works.

I can only assume that you haven't watched Holstars since Magni and Vesper left.

I mean, neither have I, but I have noticed people posting Shinri (I think) explicitly asking for yaoi recommendations on twitter, and the legions of fujo fans they have amassed.

And since you mention shota... Flayon exists.

They're not as big as Luxiem was in its heyday, but the idea that they're still going for the brotuber vibe is absurd.
