In order to ensure that this year’s Asylum Awards has the categories and nominees that you all want, we are once again conducting surveys in both spring and fall. Below is a list of suggestions to get you guys started but if you have more ideas feel free to post them in this thread.

1) Roboco's camera yab is probably the peak moment so far for me.
2) Kaela's new outfit is just well-rounded and it suits her without changing her appearance.
3) Don't have one yet
4) I don't know how new she is but that mole vtuber Tabby or something is a lot like Ina, but fun instead of sleep-inducing
5) Probably the developing Clara situation where it appears as if she's throwing shade at her PC coworkers on her PL, maybe
6) A LATAM-only category just to get on Nenelove and Cubanodum's nerves

In order to improve this year's awards we need to have an "ironlung" category which only has ironlung as an option, her not winning any awards is blasphemy.

I feel as if it would make the most sense if the questions weren't all required for submission. That would allow users to vote for only the things that they care about and not spam the Other category with responses like None or N/A.

Shiina talking about women's lifestyle and fashion has been surprisingly enjoyable and useful in my interactions.

Nothing in particular but I'm a coomer so

Haven't listened to any covers, no. I'm not really a fan of static art piece edited over and over as a video. Though I get making a whole ass music video that isn't ghetto would be asking a lot.

I've rotten luck with small vtubers and recently fucked off back to corporate safe space to a degree. Phase is a nice middleground. But I guess I'll recommend Blanc Ulica and Onolumi

Clara being the kinda woman I hated back in uni sucks to know about lol

Maybe a thread for posting original songs, and another solely for covers?

I don't think we'll be needing Phase Ls lul

I watch a lot of Roboco and Towa on the side. I will be honest, that moment made me feel things and I have become somewhat jaded and cynical through the years of watching vtubers as a whole. Maybe there is something to be said about the occasional flesh stream moment.

2. Kani meemaw
3. Life by Neuro-sama, and Origin by Kilia was a banger
4. Dokibird she reminds me a lot of Selen
5. Not even really controversy but we know of but the recent upsets with Cover, idk it feels like we are losing something special.
6. I want to see more voting for most disgusting meal eaten by a talent, most groomable 2view and the most interesting yabs

We haven't gotten any new hololive members yet this year, so no.

Clara seems to be attracting a lot of attention lately, and not the good kind.

Best new thread, worst new thread, worst new change to the forum.

I don't know. They're all pretty good, I guess.

I don't know who's been picking the songs for the best song categories, but they need to pick better choices this time.

have we gotten any? it's still too soon for this one since the only big event so far was fes, and the only other meaningful event was Nimi nightmare's charity stream, we may get another season of ENreco, and most indies only seem to do coom events...so not much there.

as for originals there has not been any so far that have caught my attention, since the thread split made it harder to pin down original songs being posted.

Have any new and/or small talents left a good impression on you?

nothing really new for me since most indies being posted are on twitch, or they stream at really bad times for me.

What controversies stood out to you?

Clara sperging so far has been pretty funny but there's not much else since rrat ridden controversies don't really count (like holo's graduations since no one but them know if there's anything big happening inside the company.)

What new categories would you like to see?

I think there should be a category split between Twitch and Youtube VTubers since not everyone likes Twitch.

best JP indie and best EN indie split instead of them being in the same category if it's not a thing already since most stick to vtubers they can understand.

Best graduated talents that kept streaming after graduating being a separate category if there's not one, and if there's one split it between companies because otherwise it's ex-Holo sweep.

Which old categories do you feel won’t be needed this year?

Black company since it's either Niji or a company most didn't even know about, or a small percentage of a Brave acquisition.

What other suggestions do you have to improve this year’s awards?

just in case make sure the things that get added are of the year the awards are for, so nothing from previous years gets added on accident or on purpose.

2. Even though I've never watched her, I'm a big fan of Zeta's newest outfit. Panko's Beeko is also great.
3. As of right now, the entirety of Subaru's "Pleiadas" album. Amazing work. But to pick one song, it would have to be this one:

5. The obvious Clara one is pretty up there, but only because of the possibility that she may have been shit talking a Phase co-worker on her other account. If it was just the politisperging, I wouldn't care beyond just making fun of her.

Who's picking the winners, people who don't watch vtubers?

It's a combination of:
1. Ironmouse is very popular (in the west)
2. Normies who vote in these awards usually don't know or like any of the other nominees so they pick her
and
3. All of these are very western-centric (marketed only to english speakers and everything including the sites is in english), so that greatly nerfs the odds of any non-EN vtuber even winning despite being vastly more popular in terms of global market share

If these awards mandated every person who likes and regularly watches vtubers in the world to vote in them then a Holo/Niji JP would win every time. Filian should definitely change the name to "EN Vtuber Awards".

Twitch streamers aren't even real vtubers anyway. (It's short for virtual youtuber, not virtual streamer.)

The thing about Ironmouse always winning awards is this is a twitch prop-up prize. There aren't any performative criteria in place. It isn't as if she's being presented as "vtubing better than any of her peers" at all, this is a promotional campaign.
She must know this, a meaningless award is a more terrible fate than receiving no award at all.
